Cheering in videos

Does any one else kid annoyed when they add in a cheering effect on a trick? for me it takes away from the video and is like a laugh track on a sit com. Im not talking about when you can just hear people cheering from being stoked but in some edits I have noticed they will add in the cheering/ stoked noses even when it was obviously not from that shot. I noticed this when i was watching the super unknown finals part 2 edit it seemed like over half the shots had this added in.

do you not have soul

cheering is amazing, edits are bland as fuck without it- go have fun watching paint dry

sounds are muy important

He specifically said he's not talking about actual cheers in a shot, everyone loves that

OP I haven't seen the video but I'm not surprised, level 1 has been doing corny shit like that forever. Clearly set up "goof around" shots, stuff like that

I sometimes wish I could take the cheering sound out of a shot easily without removing all sound. It kind of feels narcissistic.

cheer effects are kinda wack imo, but when people add *stomp* noises in, boi that shit gets me goin.

Especially when the filmer is clearly out of ear shot, like drone shots or real long lens shots. But when a homie lands it sounds like he was right there.

Silly

Which part of the video do you think has fake cheering? maybe a specific example to check out

I just rewatched and on a bunch of clips the cheering bleeds into the next shot, that's just a style of transition, just cutting the audio instead of fading it out into the next shot is very abrupt.

Warren Miller films are the best. There's nothing like hearing the fake "whoosh" of a skier taking off a jump or the added in pow slash sounds...

I mean, it can be cool if it's well done. There was a shoot from one of the level 1 films (I think it was from Partly Cloudy) at Blackcomb on a huge whale tail. It was in slow motion from a helicopter and it was dead silent, accept for the "stomping" and carving sounds. That shit was vibes.

Agreed. I actually thought that was the shit the first time I watched it. Vibes af man.

Better than fake taps

Definitely missed a tap in an edit a few years ago but it looked close enough so I committed the ultimate crime of editing in a fake tap.

Kind of depends on the edit vibes, obviously adding in fake shit is stupid, but a hood crew movie with out it would suck and a simple edit with it would suck. Imagine if the filmer in deadkind cheered.
