i haven't seen this posted, or at least recently, so i figured i might as well do it. sorry if it has been.

so anyways, post your favorite songs to listen to when you're just in a shit mood, depressed, or you just had an epic fail moment.

mine are:

if i owned a midget by benefit

motorcycle drive by by third eye blind

polar opposites by modest mouse

and turn the radio off by love is all

MGMT- time to pretend

Modest Mouse- So much beauty in dirt, float on, polar opposites, talking shit about a pretty sunset

Plastic Bertrand- Ca plane por moi (its hard to not crack a smile or laugh a little during that song)

Animal collective- peacebone

Two Gallants- Despite what you've been told, steady rollin

to be young by ryan adams

palmdale by afroman

burning down the house by talking heads

love shack by the b 52's

CCR

word on that one man, so happy!!!

and Hey Jude - Beatles is awesome, I can't help but sing along by the end.

Just Dropped In - Kenny Rogers is really good to because it reminds me on The Big Lebowski and makes me laugh :P

reggae and mgmt, for sure.

i really need more happy/upbeat music though

most of what i have is super depressing and pretty slow.

ziggy marley, michael franti, creedence clearwater revival, Zion I, Blue Scholars, the beatles, robert randolph and the family band, van morrison, talking heads.

that should be a good start.

I listen to the Fray, the whole how to save a life album....It just reminds of some good times so it cheers me up.

oh god no. IMO, he's just a whiny bitch.

and none of those are happy songs. they're all about destruction and distrust of the "system"

marvin gaye - let's get it on seriously puts me in the best mood ever. 80's tv show theme songs are pretty good too... like happy days and laverne and shirley.

also, nick cave and the bad seeds - breathless

if we're givin a throw-back like that how about:

CSNY-Everybody I love you

Steppenwolf-Magic Carpet Ride

Respect-Aretha Franklin

Van Morrison-Bright Side of the Road

Grateful Dead-The Music Never Stopped

Eric Clapton-I Feel Free

Anything by Stevie Wonder

Sly & Family Stone-I get High On You

And just look at this picture of Sly Stone and all sadness with instantly disappear and be replaced by an utter gratefulness that you will never have to dress like that in public:
