Check this indoor ski slope

there biuldin an indoor slope in dirty jersy in teh meadowlands buy gaint stadium that has something to do with creek so it will have sick jibs

lets go smerk aaahhhh!

^yea i heard about that too but i live in jersey and i think its going to be lame. my guess is that it'll be overrun by newbs and annoying people

yea but even if its overrun and crowded as hell... a little dose of snow in the middle of july would make me happy

i bet all the snows gunna melt, and not come back so itll be hot all year, they will make tons of these and make them big so skiing wont die

We have indoor parks all over Japan, with real snow. Click on "park and institution" for the features. The kickers, wall and half pipe are constant but they mix up the rails. The one I posted is closest to where I live (central Tokyo) and is small. There are bigger ones in the outlying cities. http://www.snova246.com/

so, cos the whole thing rotates, that means the rails and jumps go back uphill when it goes round right?

hmmm... seeing jibs MOVE uphill would be a total trip

I predict a solid crash and burn for this idea. The whole slope would have to keep stopping when people fall over to stop them getting dragged into the uber fridge and freezing to death. Plus if your skiing at like 20 miles an hour you'd still get to the bottom really fast. How quick do they expect this thing to spin? Plus imagine the power output of the thing. Indoor slopes are so expensive at the moment because it costs so bleeding much to run all the air conditioners let alone a huge freezer and a giant spinny thing as well. If it were in Britain thay would have to charge like £40-£50 an hour just to break even.

Conclusion: Pile of bollocks!

i can't see how this works... it's a good idea as far as utalizing the science goes but for you to never need a lift to get back to the top you're kinda gonna be in the same place all the time but going round in circles, is that right? i mean you won't actually be going up or down because the hill is coming towards you... meh maybe it's more simple than i imagine but the way i see it you'll have to ski at the same speed it's rotating otherwise you'll eventually hit the bottom or get sucked into the fridge!

never ending powder is a prospect i'm seriously excited about though...

wat the fuck. people r gonna get so hurt. itd be so hard to judge speed jumping in the park if ther r infact jumps. im hoping that the park is stationary cause itd be weird to be hitting a rail wen the ground is goin 30km. ud actually have to go over 30km just to get to the end of the rail. i wonder if they ever thought of that. o ya if they figured out wat to do about that i didnt really read much so i missed it

does anyone think its possible to bomb it fast enough down that thing to catch up to the part where it goes back under? or are you more or less stationary and the angle isnt steep enough to accomplish this?

well im pretty sure one of these has just been given permission to bebuilt in saudi, so we'll see.

hmmm it reminds me of those carpet like thingys that ballet skiers use to do their thing. The carpet stuff rolls upwards, keeping them from going, but not too much friction so they can do their tricks and control it. But the way that thing moves is whack.

weird but ya i agree with someone up there^ who said it wouldnt be able to accomodate everyones speeds. seems impossible.
