I lived in switzerland 98-99, it was litteraly at least a 500 year winter... houses that were built 500 years ago were demolished in avalanches. I went to zermatt that spring. On the train ride up nearly every railroad bridge in the valley had been destroyed by avalanches over the course of the winter... as the train passed over the new bridges, right off to the side and below were snow debris piles that were many months old, the old bridges were all bent to shit in them like little paper clips.

the snow is real nice. a week ago we got 70cm in 24 hours then we have prolly got abouyt another 15cm since then. right now it is bluebird and real cold around -20C so the snow is remaining soft but becuase of the molson canadian freeskiing challenge everything that is fun is getting played pretty hard

You guys should see the van damage and debris from the avalanches up at Alta... the place was closed on tuesday. The old hippy locals were saying that they haven't seen Alta slide this much in 30 years.

yea i saw a slide out at alta in the bc over near brighton, it was on the opposite ridge and i still almost pooped all over myself

i was driving from provo to PC this morning, and drove past the biggest bunch of avi debris ive ever seen. just coming off mt timp before you get to the sundance turnoff... crazy business.. then there was that slide that took out 4 or 5 today outside the canyons...

i was looking around and there was a pic on the utah avi forecast site that showed a 9 ft fracture... yeah. 9 ft...

crazy crap.
