The pretty lights son, its been used a few times, pretty sure PBP used it along with who knows how many kids on here. Re-using songs is really weak.

Ive noticed that even big ski movie companies do this a lot... Like the Zion I song that was used in 3 different ski movies last year. They need to stop doing that

PBP's revolver was fucking terrible about it, they re-used like 4 songs and then had 5 shitty dubstep songs and like 3 normal songs, I wanted to shoot myself, i regret using my free money on itunes.

Huh, I hadnt seen it in any videos, I try to avoid using anything thats been done before but at some point everything has been done before. I honestly wouldnt know if it was in any ski videos as I dont do ski stuff anymore accept for this.
I laugh everytime you post on my stuff as you never have had a good thing to say, I dont know if its an insecurity or what but its kinda petty.

Nothing personal, most of the time when i hate on people it's when im bored. I just get really heated about people re-using songs. I'm 95% confident it's been used, i've considered using it and I didn't use it because I knew it's been used. Oh well, its really not a big deal.

The heli shots were amazing, i am jealous but yet at the same time i dunno if i could throw a $2000 camera setup onto a remote heli, i don't trust myself ha.

That was about the coolest thing ever.

I absolutely digged the intro, so uber nice! I love the song that kicked in at like 0:40 (the funky song, maybe that's the one eheat is hating on?)

It's difficult to find songs you like that haven't already been used. Who watches every single video posted on this website?

To the editor/filmer: Nice job, I thought it looked really professional.

No it's not. And i'm pretty sure a big movie company used that song. I might be wrong but i swear to go i've heard it, its pretty recognizable.

Agreed. About 80% of the videos on here I bet have songs that have been used before. Its the unique ones that stand out.

such a sick edit man!
just a question, was flying the RC heli on the mountain significantly more bumpy than other RC footage you've taken? Looks like you used smoothcam and even then it was having a little trouble, I just didn't remember seeing that on the mountain bike edit you posted a while back. I don't mean for this to come off as critical or insulting in any way, because I definitely couldn't film like that, but it was just something I noticed and was curious about.

OP and that website edit are incredible! Love watching this stuff! I like the Pretty Lights track so i'm over it being reused. Whatever.

Thanks man!
short answer is yes, the heli flew like shit up there, I dont know if it was the elevation or the wind (it was pretty windy) but it definitely was not flying well at all, I was actually so embarrassed that I almost didnt use any of the heli footage at all. Also we were only given 2 runs worth of time to shoot with so I didnt have any time to try to trouble shoot it.

Maybe because the air is thinner up there? Boreal's at like 7300 feet... I don't know

Dude I always love your videos trent, the demo reel you have on your website is SICK!! How badly did your setup get hurt when it dropped into the lake?

Thanks man!
I got so lucky with the lake crash, everything survived aside from the lens I had on the camera, luckily it was a little cheap $500 lens and not a expensive one!

an edit that i feel may ruin a lot of future edits i watch. congrats! that was real real sick. oh and your website. YIKES you have some good shit there. keep it up

it was sage's segment in re:session, im disappointed that nobody here watches tgr.

i dont care about the music, that was a sick edit, im glad to see people using helicams

TGR used it in Re:Session last year, Sage's segment I believe.

Trent - the video on your site is awesome. How do you go about getting business? Contact companies and basically say "Hey, check out my site, this is what I do."?

Also, do you have insurance on your equipment? Like Heath said, I don't know if I'd trust myself..

Really cool concept. However, I feel like the theme could have been continued in the skiing part. The "by skiing a normal park session, you destroy the nukes"-logic seems a little bit weak. :D Why not editing in some comic figures? Kim Yong il being pretzeled to death on a rail, nukes being defused by throwing poles at them or something along these lines...

Props for using Jerry Reed. So good music! :)

Thats pretty sick! I know like all of those off hill places that you shot at too. Pretty cool that your from the Minden/Gardnerville/Tahoe/Reno area. Hhaha.

loved the edit on your site everything was mindblowing!

really didn't like the feel of the edit of the ski snowboard edit though... I found the acting by the guy in the suit to be terrible (obvs not the fault of the filming/editing) and the intro to be wayyyy to long. For the actual shots i found the heli shots to be quite unstable and too far away from the action. Furthermore i found the editing of the ski shoot to be quite bland with no real rythm to it as i seem to just get caught watching very mundane and done over shots where nothing seemed to catch my eye. Every thing on the ground seemed to be from the same distance away from almost the same angle with little time done looking for a unique shot or picture (I know this sounds really weird when u used a RC Heli in a shoot haha). Overall i was expecting a lot more and was left disapointed at the end of it all.

I know that I came off as very harsh but i always believe that if everyone constantly tells you that you are doing perfect then you will never improve.

Lots of love ,

Steezeeepolizeee

Your promo video is so fucking awesome. All those shots were so sick! You guys are really good at controlling the heli and camera. I want to see more!

Really liked that video actually, was funny and really well filmed. Also, your promo vid was amazing, so jealous of your job.
Couple questions, I assume you have seperate controls for the camera movement and helicopter?and do you somehow use a live view mode relayed back to a laptop so you can frame your shots?

Look forward to seeing more of your work!

I hear ya on all of that, most of it was attributed to running on such a short timeline with me being the only guy on our team that knew how this stuff works. Most of the follow stuff was done by my friend, which was his first time ever shooting. I know I could have done a much better job given a bit more time but I was forced to hurry through it or not finish it at all :( I also had planned on doing a lot of techy graphics to go with a mission impossible theme but again I didnt even get to that part due to the timeline.

The plot is kinda corny, but still sick. Love the improv with the heli camera. How did you know if you were even filming the dude?
