Cheapest way to travel and ski?

I'm planning on taking a year off to travel around the world skiing wherever I can. Most of the time will be spent in North America, although hopefully I'll get a few weeks in South America, New Zealand and Japan respectively.

I'll be on a REALLY tight budget so does anyone have any tips for cheap travel / skiing / accommodation in North America?

I'm happy to work part time whilst I'm travelling (as a bartender or whatever), as long as I still have time to ski :)

Any advice?

Well if you're from the states airfare to those places is going to cost around 5k total. Just to start I wouldn't consider that cheep.

I'm going to work for at least 6 months before hands (still live with my parents so 100% of the income will go to the travel). I'll be able to pay for the airfare, but there won't be too much left over for accommodation.

its a lot easier to your save money on accomidations by sleeping in you car when your still in north america. grab a van and drive where the storms are

super popular in ski towns. it might seem a little sketchy but i've used it and it's the best way to travel around for cheap. free accommodations are always the best kind, and most of the people willing to host are more than willing to show you their town. seriously, check it out.
