Cheapest time of year to buy skiis

What time of year is best to buy skis at the lowest pric? Same with boots? thoughts on buying last years models of skis? End of the year Sales?

I want to say like around September when shops start getting in the new seasons gear so they put the previous years gear on sale.

Along with ski swaps.
 
I find that generally if you want to get the ski you want for a decent price, it is right after ski season ends. Most shops and online retailers still have a fairly wide selection of ski/length combos so you can usually get what you want specifically for like 50% off.That being said, if you wait till the start of the next season you will definitely get better deals on last seasons equipment, but your selection will be much worse. You may find the ski you want, but in the wrong size ect...

Ski-swaps at your local mountain are still probably the best way to do it though.
 
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan all the time. If you aren't watching constantly you are missing deals, there is no other way to put it.

Go gear whore. It's awesome.

 
A lot of shops will have pre-season tent sales in octoberish that sell off last years models and usually used stuff on consignment. Its a good place to dump off your old gear also
