SO, I'm a bit of a recycling master when it comes to skis, and I'm always looking for swiss cheesed skis that still have life in them on the cheap that I can either reuse holes, redrill/Helicoil or whatnot and get back totally useable condition. Does anyone else do this?

Here are some of my steals from the last 2 years. all have been retuned to better than new condish.

192 Armada TST. 40$

192 Atomic Coax. 40$

186 Bluehouse Districts. 20$

183 Atomic Teledaddy w/ BD 01 (4 hole) bindings 10$

179 K2 Kung Fujas. a 12 pack of PBR.

179 Line Anthems that had barely been used. 50$

180-something Moment Tahoes with a lot of missing edge on one ski. a six pack of Oskar Blues IPA

I've ended up with a few free pairs of skis while working within the industry. Given that I'm worthless and so is my time I'd say that's a pretty good fucking deal.

$25- 2017 Dakine Wyeast Bib at Goodwill in The Dalles, OR (I know they was thinking of ME when they donated the, there with the tags and everything still on them)

$10 Dakine Contol ll Pants Also at that same Goodwill

Free- Salomon QST 92 Skis W/ Look Pivots from a buddie of mine who owns a loc ski shop, I did have to do some work for him though they are great skis nonetheless they've done me well especially with this shitty conditions although I try not to ski them much because I will never be able to afford another quality setup like this anytime soon AND this was a once in a lifetime deal I'm not shredsauce so free skis probably won't come anytime soon either(Especially not from Salomon Wuuut).

Free- Ski Poles Always, never paid for poles ever

Free- Smith Maze Helmet and Bern Helmet I never used a helmet in all my years of skiing until I got these helmets now I always wear one

$10- 2009 Nordica Ski Boots from a Yard Sale

$75- 3 Snowboards, 2 older Burtons with old bindings and one 2014 gnu rider's choice no bindings (it's a sick board) I spent almost all my days last year on the gnu and I think I got more snowboard days in than ski days.

Free Blackstrap gear, the guys came into our office and gave me one of their balaclava hoods and a beanie for free last season and a free face mask this season, I am stoked about BS they are an awesome brand and I love reppin' the BS wherever I go.

Deals are everywhere.. but go to the flatlands and places away from a ski mountain where their locals have no use for their gear, that is where to find killer deals.

Nice scores. I do it almost all the time. Here is one example of many.

I got a pair of Armada ARV86's with a small amount of sidewall missing, and a pair of Liberty Anthems? with some delam. Both of those were behind a dumpster. A pair of free Elan Puzzles from a buddy and he also gave me a realy good deal on almost new sth2 13's for $70

I bought two pairs of blends from will wesson for $50 last season. They're pretty beat up, but I only have to drill two new holes to mount them and when one breaks I just replace it. When I get back to school I'm finally gonna mount the last one, so I'd say I got a pretty good deal.

My mojo 90s were free, solid Rock ski so I'm happy about that, my poles were like $5 from a swap, I cut them down and have been using them for 3 seasons, I traded some delaming atomic troopers for my salomon ghost 120s that had half a season so I guess that counts?

My friend got bent chetlers for $0 because someone returned them after only putting a couple days down on them, threw some axials on for like $50 so now he has poweder skis.

Another friend at the same shop warrantied some dudes factions that delamed at the tip, re glued them and now uses those for $0 as well.

Different guy got Rossi Slats for nuffin for the exact same reason, someone didn't like them so they returned them after a couple days.

All of them have gotten other stuff like poles and goggles for free or close too, they transition to a bike shop in the summer so they've gotten loads of stuff related to that as well.

Want free shit? Work in a shop

Oh, I got an XL Tommy hill crewneck for $2 thift, that feels appropriate here.

Hell naw man, it's my favorite ski period and I'm on the east cost. And have had no problems on anything

any tips on getting a pair of basic downhill skis on the super cheap? I just want something with a smaller turn radius and no obnoxiously long tail for moguls

Shop fucked up my mount, so um like +2 from TC I believe

2015 Faction CT 3.0 for 100 bucks. Drilled once. Bases only had one previous repair and some slight topsheet delam on the side of one ski (edge is a little bit bent on that spot) which was an easy fix. Perfectly usable and otherwise good condition.

Just started skiing again this year after 5 seasons of snowboarding. I got 2015 K2 Domains new from the shop outlet for 100 € (bindings aren't included) and barely used Salomon SPKs for 50 €.

Best deal I found was last year on amazon. New in plastic Nitnethward CVPs (178) for 100 and some solid bindings that turned out to be essentially deadbolts in different paint for 100. So skis and bindings all in was 200.

$10 skis from Re-use it centre Whistler

I like picking up jibsticks on the cheap and donating them to the water ramps.

$80 bucks for a pair of used head chinooks a few years ago got a couple of season out of them.

Once child support kicks in it really minimizes the disposable income.

Mo' money, mo problems

Some really tall guy had bought a couple of line chronics 15/16 with a pair of new 4frnt attack 13 bindings, nobody bought them since they were so long, ended up with a near fresh pair of line chronic 190 and 4frnt attack 13s for 200 bucks.

Got a pair of 158cm Salomon Foil’s for free from a family friend aside for paying for a tune-up and the bindings to be remounted to center from traditional.

Found two people with filthy riches that had one ski broken and the other in decent condition, same size, different graphics. paid the cost of shipping for both and slapped on a pair of old bindings.

I’ve always purchased used skis from ski swaps till this year when I treated myself to some fresh powder skis. I only ever got one amazingly cheap deal and it was a pair of early 2000 head twin tip skis (same pair Jon Olson skier back in the day) I got them with some shitty but functional Salomon bindings for $8 the total came to $12 because the ski patrol wanted to make profit but they are referred to as the Eight Dollars.

I realize this isn't a setup that would appeal to most ns'ers but I just bought my lovely wife a new pair of 2017 Black Crows Ova Birdies for $199, Attack 11s for $100 to go with...I know "get the 13s"...but she rides a 6 or 7 DIN, isn't very hard on gear, and values the weight savings. I think it'll be a great setup for her and a pretty good deal to boot.

All of my other random Ebay/CL deals have only been ok, (my 16/17 ARV96 w/attack 13s ~$450 new) some of you folks are pulling some seriously sweet deals.
