me and my friend were thinking of goign out to whistler for around 2 weeks this summer and were wondering if there were any super cheap hotels or motels that we could stay at inside or even outside the town. i wouldnt mind staying outside the village as long as it wasn't a super long walk there. thanks for replying.

Cheap hotles in whislter......
I stayed at a place called Firsedie Lodge (in Nordic). Its really well maintianed and you can get a dorm bed (dorms of 4) for like $30 in Winter, so prob a lot cheaper in summer. The only problem is they have members who are really old and cranky but there are also heaps of backpackers and because of the members the place is pretty well maintained.

The shoestring isn't that far, maybe 20 minutes if you're fat and out of shape, and it's a nice walk up a 'back' road that you can drink on without anyone hassling you. Plus, if you're really lucky, a rich person who owns one of the houses on that road will be having a killer party, and they'll see you and invite you in. The rooms all come with their own bathrooms and cable TV, so you can't really go wrong. Cheap too. We got $27 per person around Xmas, which I believe is a high season, so you'd be ok there. The shoestring is rad.
