Cheap alternative to turf?

Hi,

I want to build a summer setup, but money is an issue. First off instead of a drop in i've decided to use a steep hill. But the problem is the turf is so expensive in the UK, could i just use orange fence or maybe lattice with grass underneath and then a tiny bit of turf for the jump and the landing?

And also whats the lattice or orange fence like on your skis (damage wise)?

yea just random carpets work fine to

Buzzlightyear and I used carpet from a elderly woman's house. She needed it removed and we needed carpet. Saved us both some money.
