yeah, you dont go to Chamonix (theres no R in it) to ski park. that would be the biggest waste of mountain ever.

Why don't you take a long walk on a short peir.

That would be like going to Alta to ski groomers.

ya in france if you go 6 inchs off the groomed your ARE in the BC. ski patrol wont do shit unless you drag your ass back onto the groomed. its nice though - powder EVERYWHERE!

In chamonix thereisnt really ski hills like home, just chairs going from town and the occasional little ski hill. If you got peeps and the money I strongly suggest the augille du midi, its like 4200 M up. That a shit load of fuckin skiing down. Its got fucken nutty cliffs, pow cornices crevasses and everything you could thing of. It costsabout 30 euro for one ride but if you got the cash the skills and the equipment it would be the ride of your life. Plus for renting skis just ski shops in town have tons of shit. but really the skiing is better in Switzerland or Val'd esare (sp) but all in all your one lucky bitch for going there, I was I was going back.

WHERE ARE YOU HOIET

i realize it has amazing backcountry but i have no time at all, this is not a ski trip it is a school trip, i will be going up aiguliere du midi with my class but just for 'the view.' i have already argued and tryed to get ski time, but they said no. I am wondering if there is any where i can ski really quick maybe while we have 'shopping time' or something stupid like that just to be able to ski in france. even at night i dont care.

sorry about spelling

if your brave ski the valley blanch, that shit is narly. the worst bit is the walk from the cable to the top of it. A rope and a ridge. Bring spare underware.

Dont go to England...E V E R

Dude when everyone is out shopping, go up to Brevent or Argentiere both have good terrain and depending on where they are shopping easily accessible. Slight problem though, are you brininging up skis with you?

My experience in the Alps, is that yeah, the moutains and resorts are freakin' massive, oodles of terrain, and lots of it untouched, but unless you get to the snow within a few days of it falling (or you know the place and where the good snow is), it can be pretty crusty, it looks like there's a tonne of powder, but finding the really fluffy stuff is hard.

And the pistes are sheets of ice because of so much traffic and snow making. Don't get me wrong I love the Alps, just I'm not prepared to say it's the best... killer views though :)

yeah but its icy in the slopes and its to massive to maintain the quality of the slopes

there is usually good snow, you just have to find the right sun exposure. i was skiing in france for a week last month and had powder the whole time on the good north facing slopes. the east and west facing slopes were icy and the south facing was slush.
