Hey! So is anyone from/live around Charlotte NC? My friend and I are heading down there tomorrow morning (thanks JetBlue!) and we're wondering what fun things there are to do!

Any suggestions would be awesome!
 
Lol I'm moving to Wilmington. Like packing my shit right now, supposed to leave tonite/tomorrow morning. I can't wait. I don't think theres a whole lot of NSers in NC though...
 
I live in Charlotte, not sure what to tell you to do on a Tuesday. There's the man made whitewater center if you're into rafting, or Lake Norman is a good place to go on a nice day (but it helps to have a boat). If you want a shitty amusement park you can go to Carowinds a little south of town. The NASCAR hall of fame isn't open yet so I guess you'll miss out on that. Downtown (or Uptown as they call it here) is ok to see, there's lots of restaurants and it's got a decent skyline. Not really sure what you're into or how long you'll be around but feel free to PM or ask any questions.
 
We just looked up the Whitewater Center and it looks fucking SICK.

We're only going to be around for Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Hahaha.
 
i lived there till i was 12 and i always loved reed's gold mine (sp) and hiddenite gem mine. i hiddenite is the 5th rarest gem in the world and i found a $1500 chunk of it as well as prolly 50 other rubys saphs and emerands... i got prolly 25 bucks worth of gold panning for gold too. real fun. carowinds (sp again) theme park it on the border between north and south carolina about an hour away and is veeery good. i like it more than anywhere ive been before. ive gone to mile high bridge on grandfather mountian. was a really neat experiance standing on the summit. you can see charlotte's downtown from there on a good day and its miles away. go there in the morning or it gets too hot to hike.
 
i live here, it sucks and there's nothing to do, don't come. if you must, definitely check out the whitewater center. downtown is actually pretty cool and if you're into museums check out discovery place and the mint museum of modern art. I'm sure there's gonna be some pretty interesting people watching to be had at the nascar hall of fame when it opens tomorrow so you could check that out
 
you could have all the people who posted in this thread that live in NC get together, grab a cup of coffee and discuss whether you think Tom Wallisch will die out or not.
 
correction to my previous post, as dwight stated the NASCAR hall of fame opens tomorrow, now that's a once in a lifetime experience to go on opening day. i can't imagine you not wanting to go
 
I live in asheville which is like and hour and a half away. What i usually do when i go to charlotte to visit my friends at uncc is drink cold beers and drive fast cars. Thats about it to do around there
 
We had Nascar theme night in my dining hall at college tonight....well really it was southern dining night, but we like to call it nascar night mainly due to the fact they put checkered flags up everywhere ha
