okey, here's the deal.. charley is 26 i know... BUT!....

he got soo mutch steeze he does soo many tricks and yeah really he is really good.. but, like, last year atomic dropped him out after they got a new team maneger, now he get skis from k2 after alot of searching for new sponsors, but stiill he isnt sponsored by k2 like money like.. andhe doesnt have any sponsors for clothing or anything not googles not poles not yeah not anything.. the only thing he gets is free skis.. and i think thats cinda retarded.... or, it is retarded..

for his movie segment this year he paid like ALOT of his own money to get.. and all that money he made him selv.. getting no sponsors.. and i'm just wondering... why dont charley have ANY sponsors.. is this absurd ??? and yeah, he's here in norway now. and u know ( www.fieldproductions.com ) they have like a big kicker there for the movie get lucky and charley was the first to hit.. before pk and all the guys.. threw the BIGGEST cork 5 octo hand drags of the jump.. 12 and zero spin to.. and the jump is pretty big...

and again. i REALLY dont know why i write this. but i think its soo sick he dont got any sponsors.. being as good as he is.

and for u others.. watch his segments.. charley ager in pow + 180. better than steeze
 
I really really want to see his Journal segment... that nose butter 360 to pillow rock jib 180 out in the trailer is so dope.
 
charlie ager is soooo underrated. hopefully that changes in the next couple of years, he deserves it.
 
It's probably just like most other skiers that are good and have little to no support. He doesn't hype himself up on newschoolers, he's not 15, and probably doesn't run around sucking reps dicks for free shit.

 
I never post on this site any more because aside from the excellent articles its all rubbish.
BUT...
Charley slays SO HARD, and is the epitome of the why the ski industry is just a big wank.
True talent means nothing. Its all about marketability.
If your a girl, you need to be blonde and have highly tuned fellatio skills. Dick sucking will get you far.
If your a guy, you need to be young. Period.
Think of all the amazing skiers that get old (26??? come on - takes that long just to gain the experience to ski bc like he does) or injured (which is inevitable) and then just get dropped on their asses.

Gnarly Charley, I hope you find the travel budget you deserve for the upcoming season.

The skiers that are out there doing it for themselves are the ones that deserve the most respect anyways.

in my mind Charley has just as good pow skills as pollard or mahre or pep, anyone he is the best, just look at his segment from photo play, it was some of the steziest most tech bc riding ive seen
 
so much knowledge being dropped in this thread!!

charley agar is amazing, he is proof that it not about the skiing - its about people skills / dick sucking. very few of the kids with travel budgets these days are capable of the amazing stuff he does. and 26 is not old!! skiing really needs to redefine what 'old' is, charley could stay at the top of his game for another 14 years, if he looks after himself.

i meam, yea, its dope what the young kids are doing in the park, but why arent peeps like charley getting the same suppurt from sponcers?!?!
 
Charley is a sick skier. He definitely throws down. However, there's more than being a sick skier that companies look for when they look to spend money on sponsoring a skier. It's also about whether or not that athlete is out in the marketplace like in the magazines, and whether or not that athlete contributes to the value of the brand and aligns with the direction the company is going. For example, Blake Nyman is a sick skier, but would it make sense for Ninthward to sponsor him? Probably not. Then look at the Nimbus crew. They're real professionals who get out there and make it happen for themselves in terms of self promotion. They don't sit around at their home resort and wait for filmer and photographers to come shoot them and then bitch when they don't get paid. Instead they treat skiing like it's their job and they go out and make it happen. That adds value to the athlete that sponsors are willing to pay for. I'm sure if Charley got out there more K2 would probably be willing to step up and start paying him a little.

Bottom line, the fact that Charley doesn't have any sponsors obviously isn't about his ability because I think everyone would agree he kills it. There must be something more we don't know. Also, wasn't he sponsored by Spyder too? What happend to that?
 
he wasnt sponsored by spyder.. they were interested and he got some free clothing, at the same time SMS asked him if he were interested in something with them, he said no because he got something going on with spyder. then spyder just yeah... everything got fucked up...
 
AND YEAH U GUYS WILL LIKE THIS!!!!!!! charley is going to have like.... 1/3 -- 1/4 of the segments in journal. soooooo yeah i'm buying that one. FOSHO :)

and.. its true, charley told me.
 
i once met this guy who was a local in a very small resort in germany and he did like sketchy 5s, doublekinked rails and grabbed 3s and got pants, jackets, skis and everything for half price or even less money. no matter how much he ordered (like 2 or 3 pants and jackets no problem in one season).

i mean if he sold the other two jackets and pants you could easily say that he got his whole gear for free.

and then, some guy like ager has to buy his stuff by himself, hilarious.

a point that i dont get is this: the younger, the better. i mean, if youre working with your body properly and youre preparing it for the especial exposures, you might be able to ski until 35 on a very high level.

and i am kinda sure that alot of mid-twenty people would get more into freeskiing if they see more people over 12 getting sponsorships and whatever.
 
Ager didnt get wha he deserve because he likes to watch th notebook witha whole bunch of guyz.

And ebcause the idnustry can eb weird sometime.

This may blow some minds on here but Tom Wallisch himself apparently doenst get paid anything either.... One of the biggest and most celbrated names in skiing... Then then there are guys who are unheard of and do a few photoshoots a year that get a full salary off it, so strange

That segment is from... 2 seasons ago now? And it's still absolutely ridiculous. The 1:50 mark is among the best switch landings in the BC in any ski movie to date. He lands switch in pow as well as anyone, including idea crew, and having seen a sneak peek at his stuff from Journal this year... well, wait and see how good it is. I can't even describe.
 
that footy was on atomics too. watch his shit in jorunal on his hellbents and you'll see the most progressive switch skiing to date.
 
charlies one of the filthiest bc riders there is, ive seen his and brandon kelleys seg in journal and it was freaking ridiculous, you guys should definitely get journal because it is truly awesome, but the fact remains that nobody knows who charlie ager is, and thus hes not a great face for a company so theyre not going to pour a ton of money into him. also little kids should realize that if you have a real job you can buy a pair of skis after a days work so sometimes its just easier to work summers and be able to buy and do stuff on your own terms. product sponsorships arent quite as cool as they appear, despite the obvious street cred that comes with them.
 
Man if you knew the rest of the crew at whistler you'd wonder how none of those guys have sponsors either, it's fuckin retarded man. my friend marc did a switch 12 with a tj mute in february of last year and somehow doesnt have any. brett was doing hand drag cork 7's at the start of last year, no sponsors. some people just don't have much luck with that shit but are dope cause they still throw down hard.
 
Getting sponsored is not about talent, its about marketing yourself as a product.

You gotta be a whore to make it in the ski industry.

I won't argue that the competitive level of female skiing is nowhere near that of men's, but I guarentee all the girls kick your ass

There are many skiers out there who kill it and aren't sponsored...it doesn't mean they didn't suck enough dick, its just that they haven't been noticed for whatever reason. Hopefully Charley gets noticed after Journal
 
if u mean with johnny d i doubt it. isnt theory 3 kinna like the other mack dawg crew? with the mdp its not like pros and ams, its just 2 seperate crews. which i think is the case here.
 
Charlie seriously needs to get picked up by the Hunting Yeti crew. That fivesome of skiing would kill it to another level.
 
I have seen every movie this year but Reasons and Claim, and Charley has, in my opinion the best all round performance of any skier in any films. How the man isn't a top pro for a company is just totally unfair I can understand he isn't the most marketable but how someone like Line hasn't picked him up is beyond me. K2 should put him on their pro team, right up there with Pep and Andy. He deserves that. He has to get a full segment next year.. Hopefully Poorboyz will give him one now that Theory-3 is gone. With the resources to get to all the sick pow spots.. I honestly think he could produce on of the best BC segments ever.
 
fairly big bump^his part in journal is soo sick, Im going to go watch that later, and ced's part.does he have sponsors now or still just free skis, because he definitely deserves some sponsors.
