Charles gangier

id say we are more similar to snowboarding and mabye even skateboarding than rollerblading because we are on BOARDS, while rollerblading is pretty much like wearing shoes, and i used to play roller hockey alot and ive also snowboared and i skateboard. and id say out of them all snowboarding is definatly the closest, and skateboarding and rollerblading are like a tie.

i dont think we should be trying to copy any other sport, we should do our own shit. but if i had to choose id so much rather see it go towards snowboarding/skateboarding than rollerblading.

Well let me first say, I don't think it SHOULDN'T be done, I don't think anyone can and cannot say what can and cannot be done on skis. If he wants to continue to do them, by all means do it. I just won't like it.

I really don't remeber ever hearing about him hitting Chad's...maybe it was a different gap? Still, never heard that.

I've skied with Pollard on few different occasions. Every time my mind is blown with his ability, creativity, and overall sickness. He's easily the most fun person I've seen ride and riden with. I'll take Pollard cab5/cork3 no poles into PNW pow anyday over a Box-sliding Charles. And as for Pep and Andy, don't get me started...espically Pep, he blows Charles out of the water.

i dont even know what to say. "we are on boards" what the hell. last time i checked we had to seperate skis not a board. the fact that its 2 elongated feet that move like feet are like rollerblades. do an iron cross on a skateboard or snowboard, can you do it? no. that is why its more similar to rollerblading. go drop in on a pipe, same exact thing no doubt. on skis your balance is focused under your foot, just like rollerblading. im not saying we should pose it, im saying the physics are similar. whether its rollerblades, skiboards/snowblades, or skis they are very similar only the longer you go, the more limitations to rollerblade grinds are produced. but the logner they are the more unique skis become because you can grab higher. on rollerblades you have to grab boot, on skiiboards you can grab out a little further but same leg positions, and on skis you can grab even further with the same leg positions

just look at that pic, can you do it on snowboard or skateboard? no butyou can do it on skis and rollerblades. but people DONT do that trick on rollerblades. its unique. just because its crazy legs doesnt mean its rollerblading. ive never seen that done on rollerblades. they dont drag their shin and knee like that

well then that makes sense. i am the opposite. i hate skateboard style but like rollerblade tricks but i dont think rollerblade style can be applied to skiing and look good but rollerblade tricks can be applied in a skiing style

Well Charles never said he created it, you guys made that up, charles just skis and probably laugh at you bitches crying.

wait, so does he wear knee pads? because if he didnt, and caught a burr or something pointy... while slidding on it with all his weight?

yeah i guess it can be similar to rollerblading depending on the grinds and grabs and stuff, but you can make it similar to snowboarding too, but from experience i know it is closer to snowboarding, rails are just as hard, spins are almost the same, we ride on the same thing, snowboards are just bigger. and because we are on boards we can press, butter, and do all this cool stuff just like snowboards, that will never be possible on rollerblades. and the difference on rails is soooo huge, we are facing the same way and thats pretty much it. no skier will ever do a 36 kink rail or whatever, or a 666 foot rail on skis, its impossible.

anyway thats if you want to compare it to something else, i hate comparing skiing to other sports, but if i had to say which sport its closest to, it would definatly be snowboarding.

instead of worring about who we look like and all this crap we should be doing our own stuff, thats why i dont like all the rollerblade style stuff charles and other people do, rollerblading and skiing are two completely different sports. and i dont think we should be copying snowboarding either, but because we ride on pretty much the same thing its kind hard not to.

not true, i'll bet you anything that his knee is not on the box, just boot, and in inline its called a pornstar, and not really done on boxes, so the front foot is usually sole and the back is turned just 90 degrees and the boot touches the rail and/so you can put your weight back on it.

but yea, pornstar is name

soory, your name is stupid.

And please people, stop talking shit about Gagnier. He has sick style and created new tricks for ski's progression. He deserves to be respected, and especially by the freeskiers.

ya its def sick... he is trying something new and it looks pretty good too... he is just progressing teh sport in his own style which is pretty damn sick if you ask me

it is a said pornstar..... not a fan of rollerblading in skiing though.

charles is crazy though. so many creative things
