Hey M&A,
I'm trying to figure out how to deal with a video I recently made. It's a bike film we shot over the course of the summer. Both the rider and me put in a lot of work to making it. What I'm wondering is whether or not to charge his sponsors for putting their logo's in the film.
The rider wants me to have them in, cause it'll keep his spono's stoked. I'd put them in just to help him out. But when I think more about it, the companies are getting a shitload of free advertising.
They also want me to send them the video so they can upload it to their site, which would get me more exposure but they would profit a lot more than I would. Both the company and him would still benefit from the video, if I didn't have the logos in, but it'd be nice to get a bit of $ for the filming. Gotta balance helping out a friend, getting exposure for myself and also trying to profit from all the money I've invested into filming. What are your thoughts?
