Chaps gap or pyramid

I'm laughing at you. Everything I've said about my skill in this thread is true. I've already told you, if you choose not to believe me that's fine with me just don't rage my thread with hate because you know what happened the last time that happened on NS. I think you're the joke for thinking you can determine the capabilities of others on this site. Look at my thread, it's asking for helpful knowledge about the gap that people might have, if you don't have any of that then just don't post?

I think anyone could sit at their computer and post in every thread, regardless of if they have knowledge on the subject if they don't have anything else to do. (ie No life) I suggest you find some own hopes and dreams for yourself and pursue them rather than shitting on my parade.

what? Can't you be happy for once in your life and not be such a downer. I'm certainly not getting worked up over your posts but it seems like it bothers you and you're getting all bent out of shape that i'm serious about hitting this gap.

Please just don't post in this thread anymore, I don't want you here.

For everyone else that's stoked, I am too and I really am hoping that this goes down.

well hey mr. chasing-my-dreams, if you hit the gap or not just be proud that you will still be a douche after. i somehow feel that this will not end up like the others.

I think everyone reading this thread can form an opinion about you and your ignorance in this thread. What in this thread has made me come off as a douche? I'm trying to push my limit just like so many athletes try to do in skiing any many other extreme sports other than skiing. I've already said, if the jump is built and I don't think I'm capable of hitting it, then I won't. I'm just confident in my ability to hit a jump that big. I don't see what your hating on here?

Like i've said, just don't post in here if your going to be negative, I'm looking for answers and I really don't care what the haters, such as yourself, care or think.

If you do actually end up hitting Chad's tell us the date so all us utards can come up and watch whatever happens.

Well your constant claiming of your above par skiing ability, without any shred of evidence can come off as slightly douchy. I don't know you, so i can't really say what kind of a person you are. But it seems that your above par self confidence comes off as quite cocky, hence the not so positive comments. I must admit that you coming on here claiming this and that about your skiing abilities without a shred of evidence, makes it seem more likely that you will not be successful in achieving this anytime soon. But i could be wrong. What some people are trying to convey is that if you are limited to ns forums for information gathering on chads gap, you might be walking into something thats out of your league, or that you are severely underestimating the problems involved with this endeavour.

And as for the thread title I'd definitely hit pyramids first if I were you so you can get an idea of the demands of utah BC booter building plus it's less of a risk

Honestly, a cocky attitude is somewhat necessary to step up to a gap like chad's. I don't know why your hating on the fact that I have confidence in what I do. I haven't tried to come off douchy, but I'm honestly not worried about my skill level because i really do think it's there. I know I don't have media for proof but like I've said you can believe me or not. There are a lot of skiers that are underground that kill it really hard, especially when it comes to backcountry and cliffs. I don't mean to claim, but in order for people to even take this thread seriously they have to know I'm a good skier.

ok so fucking show us you are and don't tell us. how the fuck can you not understand that? and a cocky attitude is only going to get you hurt you god damned idiot.

haven't I already said stay out of the thread?

If it's your post count your so worried about take it to the regionals or something. I've seen what you look like and I honestly can't take your comments seriously coming from a ginger with long hair because you have no soul.

And everyone that is hitting chad's gap is overly confident, you can't go into a huge gap without being that way

hahahaha, holy shit finally has someone done it! they've achieved such a high level of douche baggery that not only do simple tasks such as comprehension dissipate but also he thinks he can tell people to stay out of an website's forums! incredible. its evolution at its worst.

shut the fuck up you fucken noob. how dare you call skiierman a person without a soul!

o what you joined this site september 2010? i would shut the fuck up if you knew what was good for you.

I dont feel like i hated on you, just tried to explain what claiming, and yes, it is claiming, will get you in this forum. Again i don't know you, so i have no basis to judge you as a person. But from what you have shown on this website, i have to slightly agree with skiierman, you are taking cockyness to new level. Come on, what are you thinking, trying to tell someone to stay out of an internet forum? Dude however legit the intention of this thread was, you are digging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole of hate. Call it unfair, call it whatever you want, but it's reality, and your complete failure to realize this is what is causing this hate.

haha in the wise words of every real skier- SEND IT. hit me up when your in town i'll fuckin watch no names hit chads gap all day.

The reason that so many people are put off/ offended by the OP's self confidence is because extreme skiing is a fringe/alternative sport. just like skating and bmxing most of these kids don't fit in in school and have grudges against jocks and the popular kids. The OP sounds like a dude who played a real sport, and has carried the mentality over to skiing.

My help is this: do some pretty basic physics calculations regarding the angle of landing, the angle of takeoff, and how gradual the jump should be so as to minimize compression. I can run you through the calcs at some point when im not quite as busy.

And to Skierman: ask any good athlete how good they are, and they will tell you they are very good. to play at a high level you have to know that you can and will succeed. why not be stoked for him and offer some advice so that we can see some epic (bad, good, or hilarious) footage?

As a former jock, and fraternity member i understand that sometimes we do talk shit and make judgements of others, and can act a lil douchey. but honestly, alternative groups hate, and talk shit about jocks and what not just as much. high school doesnt matter, so why waste your time caring about what people say or think of you ( unless they can actually help you in life) if you don't like them??

woah woah. are you saying skiers can be excel athletically in school sports? i consider myself an exceptional hockey and lacrosse player haha

I dont know about that man, its not a high level athlete but I was once of the best pitchers in my league and section in highschool (not trying to claim) and was going to plan in college untill some other things happened and got in the way, have played in summer leagues against d1 kids and held my own more than adequately and I was always one of the most moddest/ still am athlets out there...I never had the need to claim anything or talk up my abitities even when people asked, i did what i had to do and let my actions speak for themself

about the gap man good luck my buddy was out there 2 years ago and said his opinion on it changed a lot when he say it in person

well thanks a lot for that man. That's honestly exactly how it is, none of my friends think I'm over confident or anything like that. But I've always been confident in my athleticism in general, and in any sport. I've played just about everything growing up, but chose to give up just about every other sport to focus on skiing. Not that I don't enjoy other sports, I just fell in love with skiing and wanted to do that more than anything else in the world.

I'm sorry if I come off cocky, but like this kid said, it's a mentality. Here's a little saying that I've always lived by. "Hucking isn't a part of skiing, it's a way of life." It's a mentality that allows one to push their limits to a level of progression one could never had envisioned. That's the way I live my life.

As for the physics, I agree with you completely and was planning on doing some calculations before attempting it. If I need any help with that I'll get back to you.

I don't see why you're ignoring everybody's advice in this thread and going for chad's first. Everyone's telling you to go for pyramids before you even think about hitting chad's. You gotta work up to it man. Usually a skater who's only ever hit a 4 stair doesn't try to hit a 14 stair with a sketchy landing, and the ones that do get royally fucked. If all you've ever hit is a 60 footer in the BC at least try to work it up to 120 feet. Pyramid is about 20 feet shorter than chads on a good day, its just as accessible, and everything from the inrun to the landing is better than chads. Please dude don't be stupid about this build up your big gap/huge booter building skills before you try to hit the biggest gap in the game.

For sure man, i agree with you on this one. I think as of now, my plan is to skin out there and check out both of the gaps. I agree with you that it'd be smart to hit up pyramid gap first and that's what we'll prob do, just to get the feel of a huge booter like you said. I've been looking at videos lately just to check out the build of the booter on the jumps so I think I have somewhat of an idea of how long it needs to be. I'm still gonna do a lot more research before I even get out there so hopefully at least something will go down. Thanks for the honest opinion though, and I do agree with ya.

As for the other people above, I think what that kid was saying is that people that are really into sports have a mentality that pushes them. Whether the person comes off as cocky or not, they are really confident in their abilities at that sport. I don't think he was putting down people that play other sports and ski because I was a kid that did that myself my whole life until I decided to focus on skiing full time. There's a difference between being confident and good at a sport, and going around acting like you're the shit.

Why yes, yes there is. Problem is you're the one acting like your the shit, without ANYTHING to back it up. You just proved my point.
