stop whining and get a fake I.D I'm 19 and I've been drinking in bars since I was 16. Goto the D.m.v with a friend's (whos over the age of 21) social security card and birth certificate say you lost your license and you need a duplicate it cost 5$ and the D.M.V will print you out a shiney new fake id that can't be denied. It's what I did and it's never failed for me. Just requires some balls.

they are saying that to appease some people here in michigan whose kids go across the border every weekend and get trashed. i am sure it is common in other states too. i have heard that rumor eversince i was 18 and that was over 4 years ago

being smart doesn't mean you won't get caught drinking trust me. I am actually not that dumb of a cookie, in fact I'm not a cookie at all, I'm a guy, and I have a penis, thank you Jesus. anyway I would give up drinking all together if they decriminalize weed in the us. ( I say that now ) The fake ID idea, good idea in a way except a buddy of mine is still paying off court fines and has a felony on his record for some kind of state fraud thing. But I guess it's his own dumbass fault, he kept it in the credit card slot in the back of his wallet and ran into some law enforcement that weren't to pleased to find to washington state ID's and different names same picture. Also make sure you and you friend have the same features because his old info is still on the computer.

as far as rolling across the border and getting fucked up the drinking age in mexico is 18 and then if you look close enough to 18 dont dont even care in mexico. You can roll across the border to TJ (Tijuana) or drive 30 min in and go to rosorito beach thats better and cleaner but tj is where its at if you just want to get drunk.

Anyway MIP,s suck wont have to worry about that in 7 months.

The ticket is like 3 bills and you can loose your license.

 
They better not change the age, I'm coming over there in a few months and I'm legal at the moment. I know I could get a fake ID and all if they did change but it would be easier if I didn't have to go through all that sort of shit.

 
yeah I have never been carded in van-city b.c. when i was in highschool, especially if you have a states ID or at least washington state's older ones, because every liqor store i have ever been to, or any candaian for that matter can't find the u.s. birth date. And as far as mexico, I didn't even know they have a drinking age. As long as you have cash there is never a problem in Mexico. Especially TJ, god damn tiajuana. You stole 3 days of my life and I want them back. Don't ever let anyone take you to see the 'donkey dance' not that I have ever been....

that dmv thing probably would work but that takes some ball. Its pretty fucking genius idea but im sure there is some major like felony shit if you get caught.

 
I do think we're a kind of backwards country that teaches people how to drive before they know how to drink... I mean you should at least know how to handle yourself drunk before you even know how to drive. It's a little extreme, but makes some sense from a certain point of view. Not that it's hard to get alcohol as a kid in highschool. But if 18 is the legal age, I'm sure the use would become more widespread. And now that I'm older hah, I don't want a group of stupid 16 year olds to have boundless amounts of booze and go drive (not everyone drives but I was around groups of people who did and it pissed me off). Anyway that's my opinion on both sides of the issue.

If it was dropped to 18, 16 year olds would start complaining that they can't drink, just in the same way that 19 year olds do now.

That said, France has a legal age of 16 (I think), and their drink problems are far worse than in the UK (18).

 
i live in vancity and im a year off from the drinking age. there is no way in hell canada would be changing the drinking age. i have heard nothing of it and the legislature would never pass. the only problem with being underage for me is going clubbing and to bars. drinking is no problem whatsoever but getting into places that require leagal age is.

when i went to tremblant i was 15 and went straight but to the bartender and asked for a molson he just said sure handed it to me and i payed him and that was that. and thats what i did the whole week there

hey IceRider, no one is being forced to fight and die for the U.S. Thankfully there is no draft, therefore joining the service is your own choice. Also, the last time the draft was enforced, the drinking age was 18, and i hope that if the U.S. does call for a draft, the drinking age will be lowered. But for now, who gives a shit, im only 17 and i can get alchohol if i really want it. It may be a little inconvinient having to sneak around and keep out of trouble, but its a whole lot better than a world where you have a bunch of drunk kids driving around getting in accidents and shit.

 
The drinking age of 21 in the US isn't even a federally mandated thing. Its up to the states in the end what they want the drinking age to be, but the federal government gives perks to the states that keep the age set at 21. They give them mainly money for the transportation department, to keep up roads and shit.
