No, it will just change the Name on the account, all links to the account remain intact.

This will be abused. I think it should be a privilage for members here after a year or donators perhaps?
 
i have another question, when you sign up you have to check to see if your name has been used, so if a change my name to something else, would our_finest_hour be available for someone else to use our since its my original name would it not be available? if not, this would be extremely hard for newbs to find names
 
I think it would be a wise decision to add a password to the name change. Since ns doesn't log me off automatically it would be very easy for someone to change my name without ever knowing my password.
 
Yes... but if you read carefully I said ns never logs me off so anyone could walk up to my computer and change my name.
 
yea I agree, its going to get really confusing with all the new names, it'd be nice to have some accountability
 
If people are mature about it, I don't see how any insanity will ensue. People should be smart, and not use it unless they have a legit reason to change their name.
 
I wont be changing mine anytime soon. when i made this account i didnt want to make something retarded and be ashamed of it later. but good mork red guys its a cool new feature
 
you shouldnt have said anything now its gunna be confusing it should have been kept quiet for only the strong to figure out
 
I don't think its a good idea, if someone had a legit reason to get their name changed they could have messaged a mod. sure recently they've probably been getting heeps of pms wanting name changes, but if they ignored then and didn't change any im sure the craze would have died down again. Name changes just meke it hella confusing. I can see its gonna get like myspace or msn where people change their screen name on a whim. Once a month there'll be name changes all over the show.
