i will go with a small example. you know there are picture of the titanic, right? so according to your logic, that friggin ship is still somewhere around. but a picture is ALWAYS showing the past (may it be 100 years or 1 day), so there is no proof that this hill is still there (although all the rumors that it was blowed up are obviously jokes) only because its on this picture
