Certain places where park shouldn't be skied

Jackson Hole

Crested Butte

Wolf Creek

Taos

Alta

add other places that you think people shouldn't ski park or a very limited amount of park.

alta

put then again i have a season there and thats basicly the only place i ski

and i like to hit up the park

its only open and grommed on the weekends

eh...parks are the integral part of a skiing experience though...if its cruddy then you need to ski the park once in a while to break the monotony of the trees, as well as a learning place to safely learn shit before you take it into the backcountry. if youre going to have that list then you should put big sky on there too.

so.....pretty much any place that offers decent terrain? i could never understand why people hit that shitty ass park all day at snowbird.

ooooooh Northstar for sure

They have fuckin gnar natural terrain.

There cliffs! Like wow

There so big

(If you dont realise my sarcasm you are an idiot!)

For those who don't know. Gore Mountain.

I was going to say it, even thought most won't fully grasp that Gore Mountain is one of the best answers in here, sure Alta and JH are obviously powder havens, but Gore Mountain NY has the shittest park, EVER, and coupled with some decent trees, the split of time should be 100% rest of the mountain, 0% Gore Park. The freestyle is in shambles.

if there is a foot plus rule, it definately should be at places that constantly get good sized dumps... not jiminy.

are they building their park around some cliff hits (a la whistler's step up a couple seasons back), or full on fake landscape-style rocks?

if its the latter, that's quite funny.

and to address the topic, there is no "no park" list. even in the places with the most insane & easily accessible terrain in the alps, there's plenty of days when conditions in the BC suck or are retardedly dangerous.... hence park!

people say that when you go west you should ski park at all. however i disagree because the jumps are soo much bigger, its easier to do sweet tricks on them. this past year when i went to utah i skied 3.5 days all mountain (moslty powder and tree lines, not alot of stuff on the trails, you know im a badass) and then 1.5 days in the park learning new tricks. i felt like this was the perfect balance

yeah if i go west i would take the oppurtunity to ride parks that arent icy. id still go for a lot of pow though

CB park is the shit, sure it isn't Breck, but breck is flat and lame. Here you can lap the dopest terrain, drop Fredos 20-80 feet have a bomber glades run, nut your pants, and still throw down in the park on the way to paradise lift. Ultimate place to be a really well rounded skier
