Center mounting

when people mention center mounting, do they mean exact center of the ski or the center of the recommended. like 3 back from center...is that three back from exact cetner or 3 back from recommended?

theres two kinds of center

recommended center (where the center line is on the ski)

and true center which is halfway between the tips and tail

exact center but i wouldnt center mount unless your pure park... if you do alot of park but not all i would do 2 cm park... if not alot park 4 cm back

Even on park only skis, I mount a cm back. look on the armada site... all of their riders do it too.

You cant have a rule for all skis. Skis have different sidecuts, shapes, and lengths... all of those have to factor into where you mount it.

That's way too general to be of any use. I'm having a pair of skis mounted at about -8 from center right now, but if I went by your guideline they would be useless. I'm sure you could come up with a formula to calculate where you should mount your skis, but personal preference would make it useless.

Wow, good job at being an idiot. I wasn't saying to follow a trend because the cool people in skiing do it. I was saying that people who are MUCH better skiers than you or I will probably ever be do it, so there is PROBABLY a reason why.

I don't know, but if TJ Shiller gave me a trick tip, I would probably think to myself "Wow, since he makes a living skiing, he probably is right" rather than thinking "If I do it his way, I am following the trend, which makes me suck".
