Center mounting unsymmetrical skis ?

I'm contemplating purchasing a new pair of boards that are made for the park and pipe but they aren't symmetrical skis. The dimensions are 112/79/106. If I buy them will I be able to have my new bindings center mounted on them? Thanks

The skis aren't really meant to be centre mounted, but go for it. It's a matter of personal preference.

the majority of park skis are unsymmetrical. if you are planning on skiing mostly park you can center mount any skis but its not recommended for all/big mountain or pow

Thanks bro, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear

It won't really make a difference with a non symmetrical park ski if you're riding it in the park (at least it doesn't for me), but for a big mountain/powder ski definitely mount back from center.

I have the same problem with the Armada al dente ski, but since all my time on the mountain is in the park, I going to mount my bindings dead center. The factory recommended for the al dentes is -2.5cm from true center. When you get your skis you can look where you would mount your bindings that it will say factory recommended spot and that's more for people not skiing all park... It more for the all mountain people. I hope this helped you!

You can mount any ski anywhere you want. If you haven't played around with different mounting points I would suggest either starting to, or listen to the factory suggested mounting.

I mount my skis all over the board. My 185 chopsticks true center, my shiros 1.5cm back of true center, my lib tech nas 1cm back of side cut center, Candice 4.0 1.5cm back of true center, candide 3.0 true center.

Don't do it, everyone at your local hill will notice and they will all laugh at you behind your back and in front of your back.

I hate when people make fun of me in front of my back

wait bro do you ride the al dente? couldn't tell from your sig

I have been center mounting my skis for years cause all I would ride was symmetrical park skis, and last year I got a pair of blends and thought "guess I should mount them back cause that's what they're made for"

and it was so uncomfortable. I'm gonna get a remount. I feel like I can't put any pressure on my tails without washing out and when I'm skiing bumps it's taxing with so much shit on the front end.

so recommended isn't always the best

I've been skiing New Life's centre mounted since I got them (they're symmetrical, so meant for it) and I wouldn't have it any other way. I picked up ON3P Jeronimo's and mounted them at reccomended (-3ish I think?) and am probably going to move them up this year. I'm probably just a bad skier, but definitely felt a bit uncomfortable and not quite as stable.

how far back did you mount them? i feel like you could get away with a cm or 2 but anything beyond that would be ludicrous!

I'll be honest, i like my park skis non symmetrical. I have ridden the A-Bangs and while they are good in the park, ripping a groomer the tails sometimes catch when making quick turns.

they're at the recommended line. not sure how back it is but it really throws off my game.

mounted my k2 presses center with dimensions of 113/85/104 and they worked good carving and park wasn't really planning on using in powder but they performed at least what should be expected with skis mounted center. I'd go for it, there shouldn't any problems.

Dealing with the same issue now! I think I need a remount to dead center. How have they been in powder?
