Center mounting question?

I just had a quick question for you guys that have skis center mounted.

I just got some AR5's for this season (super excited) I had them center mounted because I do probably 70% park 30% back country, and I also instruct. I was just wondering though will having my skis center mounted really be harder to ski powder?(I ski in Oregon: so Mt.Hood mainly)

it will make it harder but not that much. but if its 30% TRUE backcountry than yes i would get them mounted back.

no not too much, i have my 1080's centered and they do fine it takes a little more work but eaier to ski switch in pow. if you get them core center its usually an inch or so behind true center wich would make it a lil eaier for pow.

Wow, ar5s in the BC? And centermounted? Um, If you're a good skier, I think you can make it work, I would have probably mounted them 2 or 3 back.

YOU HAVE TO BE PRETTY STUPID TO THINK YOU CAN SKI POWDER WELL WITH CENTER MOUNTED SKIS. THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF SKIING POW IS BASED UPON YOUR TIPS BEING OUT OF THE SNOW HOW IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU HAVE LESS NOSE AND MORE TAIL? YOUR AN INSTRUCTOR?????

if your gonna ski powder do not centre mount your ar5s. i tried to ski mine in some pow and it was fucking brudel

Mount em back a bit. The dynamic of a ski for park and powder riding is completely different. Center mounting is great for spinning (neither the tip or tail is overly heavy), riding switch, and rail balance. Mounting them back will increase your skis frontal surface area and allow you to 'float' and stay on top of the pow. If your doing "real b.c", then consider a totally different ski all together. Peace

find the balance point of your ski and mount there, should be 2-3cm back from true center. you'll have equal weight to in tip and tail, making spinning a breeze and it will make skiing the rest of the ountain less of a chore.

Mount them back. Though i'm going to agree with someone up above, the AR5 isn't exactly a prime ski to go BC with, i suppose they're light, easy to hike with. But you might consider something bigger, and at the very least not centermounted.
