Center Mounted?

Ok, so i have been skiing for a long ass time now, like 6 years. But i just got into freestyle last year, and can only do a 5 and can do almost every straight rail except down/up rails and i cant do C rails/battleship rails. But today I met this kid at the terrain park and he was teaching me how to do this straight rail that was bout 12 feet long and 3 ft high.

I got it on my second try, but he told me "You should get your ski's center mounted". and i didnt know what he was talking about and he explained it to me, he said it would be easier to do rails. But does that make it hard to do jumps and just ride? And do like all freeskiers have their bindings center mounted?

most people do a center mount depending on how much u ski park, it makes sense for it to be centered when your in the park, it wont really affect your jumping and youll be balanced in the air. beings furthur back i guess will help you carve, but personally i cant tell the difference really my center mounted disorderlys are perfectly fine just shredding down the hill..

the only thing its really gonna help with is skiing switch... but with jumps, rails, boxes and everything it really isnt gonna help that much at all. My skis are not center mounted and i can do down rails and c boxes and stuff and I can ski switch fine but getting a center mount is just gonna cost you money and put more holes in your skis it really wont help that much.

Ok, well i ride in park every single time i go ski'ing because i live in Michigan so there isnt much downhill here.

But if it helps riding switch and even if it helps me balance on rails just a lil bit it will be worth it..isnt it only like 20 bucks? I have a seperate pair of Volkis *non twip twips/non big mountain* just pretty much racing ski's that i will use for powder ski'ing because i am going out to Utah for spring break this year.
