Center Mount Help

Okay, so I got my skis mounted at Sun and Ski sports, and they have a shitty reputation. so the other day i was like im gonna measure my skis and see length wise if the acttually are center (based on length). They are'nt, they are back 4 cm. so i found the balacing point of the ski next, and what do you know its in the center of my heel and two piece. so are my bindings center mounted or not?

I know the point of a center mount is to be balanced while spinning, so I was just wondering.

Spark notes:

Is a center mount based on length or weight?

I think it's:

Core center = center balance

True center/dead center = length center

sounds to me like your bidings are mounted core center, or the thickest part of the core. true center is in the middle of the total length, core is usually set beck a bit, and the balancing point for normal skis, so it sounds like yours are at core, not true.

If you had to measure it to notice the difference, does it really matter? No need to beat a dead horse complaining about how it's the shop's fault, but if you didn't notice they weren't in the center right away it's probably not a big deal.

^I did notice before measuring... So do i want to be core center or true center for free skiing

hahaa, are you measuring boot sole center?

sounds like you arent. a ski wont balance on yuour finger if there are bindings mounted on them.

IF the did mount them wrong in the end, take them back and get them to give you new skis... or try to. I would.
