Cell phone water damage

so i jumped into a pool with my moto razr and its pretty much dead now... i dried it a bit with a blow drier and its baking at 150 in the oven now... im thinkin of using some rubbing alcohol with a q-tip next. anyone have any ideas about how to dry it. also other stories about soaked phones would help too...

mine went into a water fall dried it out with hair dryer then let it sit for a week befor trying to turn it on and it worked fine

DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON RIGHT AWAY, it like frys the insides of it and that will make it have no chance at all

well i was pretty pissed so i dried it witha hair drier and then plugged it it without the battery... nothing happened except the keypad flickered so i unplugged it... im goin out now to get some silica gel to help dry it. after a few days of that i'll let it sit before tyring to power it on again. but keep the suggestions coming...

you probably fucked yourself by putting it in the oven, its cell phone batteries aren't supposed to be in excess of like 100 degrees. I've dropped a phone in the toilet and gotten in my hot tub with my fun, both times i just unscrewed everything i could and let it dry out upside down and it worked fine, putting it in a bowl of rice also works well my dad did that with his

yeh no i took the battery out before the oven. but razrs are a pain in the ass to take apart.. i'll just put it in some rice and silica gel

i dropped one in a tub once, caught it a few seconds later, screen had fog in it for a while but no lasting problems

yea let it air dry or put it in rice. since rice is dry, it will absorb the water out of the phone. my sis dropped her phone into a bucket of water, put it in rice, and saved it

for future reference, it's not the water that will destroy your phone (unless it gets into the screen), it's running power through your phone while there's water in it (which shorts out the circuits).

my girlfriend's phone has fallen into water twice and it's been fine a few days later once it dried.

i went on some forums and tons of people saved there phones in the over on 150 for 20 minutes. that made a notacable difference for me but its in rice now and will be for the next few days. i dont really know what i was thinkin with the rubbing alcohol

a friend of mine dropped her phone in the toilet on a very drunken night and she let it sit out all apart for a few days and it still works so good luck
