Causwell Reasons jacket

How warm are they??? I had a Salomon reflex jacket but I didn't like very much so I saw a good deal at causwell and grabbed one (50 bucks). I ask because I used to be fine last winter all the way down to single digit temps just wearing shorts and cotton tee shirt in my saly jacket, when I hear people saying you need all this baselayer and shit and never wear cotton when you ski that's a bunch of shit in my book. If you have a reasons jacket what do you wear underneath that's not too hot or not too cold, and do you think I could just keep doin my shorts&tee or would that be too cold probably? My old jacket is a little thicker and heavier but I don't know that it would make much of a difference...

my .02 "warmth" is a personal preference...

the reasons is insulated, so it should be fairly warm with minimal clothing underneath, if you run hot. You might find wearing a flannel or hoodie underneath to be more comfortable. it's totally dependent on you.
 
If you get a chance to get one, I would certainly suggest the format jacket as well. It's remained durable and warm for the past two seasons on the east coast. My standard layering is usually a base layer then a t shirt before the jacket. The material feels incredibly durable too, all the velcro/zippers have remained intact too
 
Same. One of the media chest pockets on my purple one ripped though but other than that, They are fantastic jackets. I love both of mine.
 
ha, well we were eating tacos then we went accros the street to the causwell outlet like last month and 50 dollars, how could I pass it up? So I already have it, I will have to feel it out I guess when it gets cold but if I have to buy something to wear under it I can do that too.

I go base layer, t shirt then jacket. If its cold, then I'll add a long sleeve cotton shirt or a turtle neck between the base and tshirt
 
Is causwell even there or open? I tried calling them 4-5 times in their business hours in the past few days and no answer and yes I know they are open Wednesday to friday 10-5. There number is 801-733-4195
