Catapult to parachute!

that is soo risky cause there's so many things that's could've gone wrong.
 
It's because of people sueing the fuck out of other people that we don't have that in North america(except maybe mexico)
 
i like how the first guy had a military issue style chute, and the second had a real BASE chute it looked like.
 
do you know how easily those chutes could have been tangled with how much they were flipping out of control
 
my idea is to use mag lev vertically to launch people straight into the air.

because acceleration can be dialed in and controlled so closely with mag lev the forces experienced by the "jumper" would be reduced, but the top speed reached by the mag lev system would be very high.

also, mag lev can be stopped very quickly but without conflicting forces that would put the "jumper" into a spin/flip.

just imagine that human catapult thing on Richie Rich, but make it go straight up, and use the same system that those super fast trains in japan use.

it could even be housed in a hotel elevator shaft, or something like that.
