the best way to avoid skiing lame terrain is going with a group that is all the same skill level as you. if you just sign up for a day trip with random people you'll end up skiing low angled pow with everyone else making a billion turns on the way down. jones pass cat skiing can be fun if you do a group day (although personally I'd just tour it, almost as easy) and it's only 300 bucks. I've heard the buffalo pass in routt county isn't super steep, but if you want to ski some of the deepest snow of your life then consider it.... I'd ask dudes on TGR, they have more money haha
