Sup NS

I'm going to uni next month at Nottingham and having checked out their snow club, it looks like most of their freestyle stuff happens at Cas. Was just wondering how their park checks out against the other domes?

Also, does anyone know how the uni snow sports competition works? I can't figure out if it's dryslope or dome based or whether it's out in the Alps in March/April?

Cheers

You going to Trent or Uni of?

Cas is pretty sick, Thursday and Fridays are the main freestyle nights where they have a park setup which you can see on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/snozonecastleford?fref=ts

They do also have a few features setup on Wednesdays aswell though

There are 3 freestyle comps -

BUDS - Edingburgh, Hill End dryslope 7th November & 8th November.

BUISC - These are competitions held indoors from Feb -March in Scotland, Midlands and the South: SnowFactor Braehead, Xscape Castleford and Xscape Milton Keynes.

BUCS Main Event - Held in Tignes this year, 28th March.

Cas' park is generally good In comparison to the other domes. As for uni competing all of the above are part of the calendar. Early semester is build up the dry slope comp in Edinburgh. Then it's pretty quiet until jan/feb when its the indoor comps. Then in April/may is main event in the alps but I'm not sure if Nottingham uni's do it after a few bad events. I think they just do an Easter trip to the alps instead. Also not something I was involved with or know about but there is dry slope comps for te English unis called kings. To be honest competing at uni is good as long as you're not looking for serious competition if you are you would be far better off looking for national and other independant comps.

Going uni of

nah I'm not really looking for serious competition, i was just guessing that uni comps would be pretty fun to be at. Cas looks sick as well, my home mountain is tamlands. As long as there's decent kickers (for a dome that is) then I'm pretty stoked

Make sure you sign up and get to BUDS, it is a crazy weekend up in Edinburgh! Definitely worth skipping the Thursday and Friday of labs.

Sounds sick. Unfortunately I've broken my arm and had surgery on it so I can't ride till January, Gutted :( Definitely gonna try to get up there anyway, sounds like a blast

Yeah the kings freestyle events arent the best as they arent all over the country, only held at a couple of drys dotted about.

From my experience their kickers are awful. We used to go student night on wednesday since thats the only way I could get to an indoor slope, but if you can then go to thursday/friday nights.
