i'm getting a new car

i'm thinking about a mazda rx7, mitsubishi lancer evolution, maybe toyota supra

somewhere around there

any suggestions?
 
Just buy how your talking you know nothing about cars. But yea go ahead and just buy whatever looks cool. And make sure its auto.

do some research, find what you like, and learn to drive a manual for gods sake, none of those cars are worth getting in auto, unless your 50+
 
You need to be more specific about what you're looking for. You named a drift car, a car that's really good at almost everything, and a drag car (huge generalizations, obviously). Are you going to drive it in the snow? Are you going to modify it? Are you going to race it (and if so, how)? Give more information and you might get some useful feedback.

i'm going to drive it in the snow, not heavy snow but icy at times and i like to go speeding a little. there is a road that nobody ever uses so i go there and floor it every once in a while

i'd like something that goes fast but easy to control

you sound like a PERFECT candidate for an S4......check it out, its a really solid car, great handeling, power, luxury, its perfect, and you can do sweet mods that dont make it look like shit. And if you dont have enough money for a new one, check out the B5 S4...soooo hot, my dad had one for a while

its a good car for the money, but in my neck of the woods, it draws a shit load of attention from the 5-0.
 
Supras and RX-7's will be totally worthless in the snow, but throw some snow tires on an Evo and it will eat up anything you put in front of it. Not only that, but they can be easily modified to make a lot of power and go stupidly fast. If you can afford it (I'm not going to ask how), get the Evo for sure. Any particular generation you're interested in, or are you just looking at them in general?

You could build an amazing car for that kind of money. You might want to check some Mitsu forums since I'm more of a Subaru guy, but I'm pretty sure an exhaust and ECU reflash will make that car a lot quicker if you care to make a fast car even faster.
 
im jealous of your flow, for you i would say start with a sporty sedan before jumping into a full out sports car like the RX7 or Supra, learn your ropes before going too nuts. Evo if you can afford it or S4 are both great year round cars and both expensive as hell but fast and nice
 
pick up a 03 cobra for 22K. 5K T56 TT Setup. 3K Supporting Mods. leaves you with 5K to buy a cheap truck/suv for the winter.

That stang will run low 10s all day. Even lower if you can drive.
 
I love how this guy knows nothing about cars. Why would you want an RX-7 in the snow. That should be out of your head automatically. Just buy an Impreza and go, you don't need anything real fast, you probably can't drive stick anyways.
 
if you want a fast car, huge soundsystems are counterproductive. i love when i see kids with like, carbon hoods and shit, then a 300lb box/twin 12s setup in the back. fucking retards. and if you are gonna get a system installed, find some peeps who know whats up. if your in ohio, i know 2 buddies of mine that do truely amazing work. they are way into acoustics, and thier enclosures, and electronics are amazing.

also, now, as for a car, if you have to ask what i should buy, you need to hit the books, test drive, and figure shit out yourself. as someone else said, everything your talking about is insainly different. if you want to get into serious sport cars, and your comming from a neon, drop a few grand on a smaller rwd car. my bud (same one with the sound company) bought a wicked nice lil Porsche 924 turbo for 2500. its not wickedly fast, nor is it gonna kill you. itd be a very good investment to learn to drive a sporty, rwd car before getting something like an RX7 or supra, which you would just crash. if your looking for a fast daily driver, anything all wheel drive is going to be much nicer than rwd, specially for snow and rain. audis, subs, evos, golf/rabbit r32, whatever.

mmmm....35k for a car, that would be sick. WRX's are rediculously fun, amazing snow handling, and can haul too. this guy i know had an s4 cabriolet, soooo sick. he would go like 115 in 25 zones and shit, until he wrecked it drunk driving. not reccomended doing that. brang new subis are around 30k, so save 5k for skiing.
 
well i live in ohio so i don't need anything for a lot of snow, just a few patches of ice here and there and maybe an inch or two of snow but nothing heavy

i also can use my parent's car if it gets too bad and therefore i don't really need a car that is great in snow
 
well if your looking for an automatic fun car, get a mercedes amg c43. its gonna be used, but definatly worth it. 20 grand for about 40-50k on it, and spend teh rest of the $$ on getting it supercharged and ask a mercedes specialist on what else you can do to upgrade it. extremely luxurious, handles superrr nice and is quick/fast as hell.
