Carrying a loaded handgun on me at all times.

Sights or not have you ever tried to shoot a handgun?? It's not like the movies, it's actually pretty damn hard to hit stuff past 10 yards or so.
 
Yes but its easier with the sights, right? And no, ive never actually shot a gun, but it would seem logical that the sights are there for some reason.
 
Like I said in certain situations. I'd still rather have it and be able to use discretion rather than need one and not have it.

Hell nowadays I'd be too worried about legal consequences to even shoot at anyone not directly threatening my life.
 
yea i was born and raised with guns since my father hunts so i know how to shoot and aim and all that shit, but i shot a couple of different handguns, i think a 40, 380, and 44 mag and past ten yards its hard to just hit a pizza box like 1 in 6 shots. Also even if you do hit your target the bullet can go and pass through and keep going, hitting some random person.

A big knife is much better.

end all be all guide for urban muggings:

the second the dude asks for your wallet or watever, pull the dam thing out, whip it at his feet and run the fuck away. dont try to pull a friggin gun, dont hand him the wallet slowly so he has time to think about it and shoot you after. just gtfo of there. try to zig zag when u run, its a 95 % chance that unless the dude has had extensive teaching in shooting he won't hit you, especially if theres stuff in the way. the more distance u can make the better. easy. you lose your wallet but not your life.
