i just think its a good idea, and why not, as long as i dont use it first, what trouble could i get into?
 
I dont know if its a joke or not, but conceal and carry has saved alot of people I know that live in cities, and saved my dad too when he worked at a gas station.

Where do you live? In a city or just suburbs?
 
It's fine if you're gona do it responsibly and legally. What kind of gun are you planning on carrying?

What are the gun laws in Canada? I remember hearing that you have a lot less gun related violence.
 
Id carry a knife around before a gun. Its not like people are going to be shooting at you, there going to be close and a gun is completely un effective at close range
 
i woudlnt carry a gun but the thing with a knife is that if you really think about, do you really have the balls to stab someone? i'd be able to shoot someone in the arm or foot no problem if they were gettin crazy violent but stab someone? i dunno...theres just somethin about stabbin someone...
 
i dont know how close range you mean. but id go as far as to say guns are MORE effective at close range

I definitely could not stab a person, it wouldn't be like in a movie or grand theft auto or something. there would be blood everywhere, they would scream their head off. that'd be fucked...
 
pretty much the same as the states i think, but most people here either don't buy guns or simply don't use them. i think we're just a little more level-headed up here (no offense). plus as long as we keep gun violence down, we can talk about how much better than the states we are in that aspect (believe it or not i hear this at least once a week).
 
what are you gunna do to a guy who has a gun on you, watch him blow your head off while you pull yours out? And ya it takes a lot of balls to stab someone, i know. It would definitely bug me afterword. I dunno if I could do it to some random person, knifing someone is definitely personal

nononono, you totally misunderstand. it doesn't make us feel "safe". carrying a loaded gun makes us feel like a "bad ass". nobody fucks with you if you're carrying a .50AE Desert Eagle.
 
brandon you're a retard. you live in MAINE. also, you can't carry a concealed weapon unless you have a license. which takes a lot of training and testing to obtain. they don't just hand that shit out

handguns, autos, and pretty much any kind of gun besides hunting rifles are illegal. you can only have a rifle if you have a license or something, which is hard to get. even our airsoft guns need to have an orange tip by law, its gay.
 
so I have a question for all you guys.. is your life really in danger in cities (I assume that's where you are)? I see absolutely no need to carry a gun ON me. I have a shotgun in my truck for completely different purposes and I carry a knife a lot but those are purely for hunting and practical means.

I'm not saying I dont' think you should I'm just wondering if you actually have to do that because I really don't know..
 
my music teacher used to carry a piece cus he was a musician and getting paid in cash at 3 in the morning over the bar is a lil sketch it made him way more comfterable..he ended up pulling it on some guys that were hiding in his trailer cus they jus robbed a bank......or so he claims

Yes people get stabbed, yes its a shame, but its hard to mis aim a knife, where as its far easier to hurt a innocent member of the public with a gun,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhys_Milford_Jones this for example happened a year ago. I probably dont't trust your aim with a gun any more than i would a criminals.

This isn't my main point how ever. i think by presenting me the article you were trying to create an element of fear because some people are stabbing each other, i know of also one kid who was just trying to stop a fight in london and got killed for his efforts. Now using rational thought, something not all are great at, i can conclude the chances of me getting into a knife fight are tiny, more importantly id never want to get into one. If i pulled a knife on someone whats it going to do, make them more desperate and the situation more dangerous, the chances of some serious damage getting done to myself is massively increased. The same applies with guns. Why the fuck do you even need a gun in the first place, haven't you got over them yet. By making them legal you flood the black market with them with massive ease.

You created your own mess with the ": The Right to Bear Arms" and the only way you think you can clear it up is with more guns. Thats why i feel sorry for people who think they need guns to feel safe.
 
ha when i was living in breck, i was at this bar and this kid had a glock on em. it was fuckin harlious but then scary. I didnt care much just cause i was drunk. it was pretty fucked up when he showed me though.
 
if you need a gun, you fucked up already by being there. Honestly, if you're walking down some dark alley in a sketchy area of a city at 3 am, you deserve to get robbed just for being fucking stupid and being there in the first place.

but myself, i always carry at least 3 hand grenades at all times as well as an RPG in case i'm robbed by 6-10 men in an armed personnel carrier.
 
yeah, it's a little thing called buying guns from friends instead of shops. i know it's illegal but when i was 14 somebody pulled a gun on somebody else at the basketball court and from then on i figured i was going to have a gun so that people would be less likely to fuck with me. i've never had to use it, thank god.
 
a complete misconstrusion of what i said. I said it would flood the black market, i.e. make them far more easily accessible. That is why your criminals have more guns than our criminals, thats why your gun crime rate is extortionately high compared to countries who don't permit there civilians the right to bear arms. (presuming your from the U.S.)
 
I feel ya on the home defense front. On the other hand I'm all for law abiding citizens being able to carry handguns. Responible gun owners take much better care of their weapons, they also have much more practice with their weapons. I'd be willing to bet I am more accurate than your average gun slinging thug, and I don't even own a handgun.
 
Makes sense I guess, although I could think of a few situations when I would want one on me. Did your friend who got jumped have a weapon of any kind on him??? If I cooperated and was still being roughed up you can be damn sure I would want one as back-up. I'm not saying if I was carrying that the first thing I would do is draw and start blasting. If I was getting into my truck and saw a shady looking cat obviously approching me I might flash it just to scare em, I've personally seen that work.
