Well iknow im still quite aways off from a full time job, and i first need to graduate. But as a highschool freshman it has occured to me that i should start thinking about a possible career and before someone say's it, Yes i know some people only really figure out what they want to do when there in university or college.

is there anywhere i can take an aptitude test for free( i think thats whats its cald)

im kinda interested in:

physiotherapy

phys.ed teacher

ski patrol( if i ever become good enough)

you can take an apptitude test but you should start thinking about what you really like to do. just because some test tells you that you might be good at something doesnt mean you will enjoy it. I'm in my freshman year of college and I thought i knew what I wanted to do with my life but being here has made me realize that I might actually want to do something completely different. You need to get your life priorities in order and then go from there. You may not realize what you really want from life until college or long after. Who knows? But i would start with thinking about things you are interested in.

dont worry about it bruh. people hype that shit up when it really aint a big deal. just know what youd be good at, dunn.

tahnks for the advice guys, it is already starting to put my mind at ease. Now i just need to get good grades so i can have ptions when i get to the point of choosing.

Yea don't worry about it now because itll change a dozen times before you get into college, and then itll prob change some more after youre there.

Try to do what's fun for you. Even better, look around to see what is the most reliable career as a backup that's closest to what you want to do. I know for a fact I will never be a pro skier unless I get fucking amazing this year, which has virtually no chance of happening.

The second choice to embed skiing into my life is to get into the industry. Since I don't have a chance of competing with the likes of K2 and Solomon, I won't try to compete by making skis. It may be a hobby eventually, but as of now I need to focus on school and such and I would rather focus on getting a good education rather than wasting cash on some project that takes a bunch of time.

Essentially, you should really be logical about your career path. you're only a 9th grader so you have a TON of time to think about this and get amazing grades so that you have all your options open to you. I wouldn't worry about it too much at this stage, but sooner or later you'll need to figure out what you like, and what you're good at, and what's the best combo of both in one job.

Don't go to college and declare your major as undecided. I'll smack you. Take a year off after high school. Travel and get a job somewhere interesting. I'm working at a basin right now, it's fucking amazing and way beats wasting my parent's money spending a year or two being "undecided."

dude your screwed.

Just playing but seriously I have changed what Ive wanted to do when I grow up all my life when i was 5 i wanted to be an astronaut, when I was 14 I wanted to be a porn star, when I was 16 i wanted to be an engineer. now i am 18 and I think I want to do film or business, But im still unsure so basically dont worry. Once you get into college you figure what you want to do with your life. whehter it means being a sucessful ass motherfucker or just a average ski bum its all good.

im not trying to get all worried its just these fucking asshol teachers put some much fuking pressure on you and shit

and thats their job. dont sweat it man...live life while you can. enjoy your years in highschool and something will come to you. man ive got about 10 years on you and i still dont know what my career is going to be. things will come to you. no worries

wait, your a freshman in high school and are already thinking about this? do your parents force you to do this or do you put this pressure on yourself?

Im a freshman at UVm and have no idea what the fuck i want to do for the rest of my life. preferably, i dont need to ski daily forever, but i need to ski, have friends, have fun, and not be bored. i want people to like me and i want to like people. i want a job too, and good one, that i like, but i dont need to make alot of money.

thats all i need

i am thinkin about gettin a business degree and then tryin to get in at a ski company cause i want to be in the community for the rest of my existence, skiing for life oh yeah!
