Cards and pin numbers

my mom left me for about 2 weeks while she went to france. she gave me one of her cards so i can go get groceries and shit but i wanted to use it at the atm because im out of cash and apparently my dealer doesnt take credit cards which is bull shit. is there such thing as a card that doesnt require a pin at an atm? because i dont know what her pin is.
 
you mean, is there such thing as a card that anyone can pick up off the street and withdraw moeny?

no. i'd say go buy something at the grocery store or wherever for say $50. then go back and return the item with the receipt and ask for the money back. now you have $50 in cash money.
 
no dice homie...u could try just going to a convenience store and buying something then asking for like 40$ and just adding that onto ur total bill...mabe ur bank would allow it if u showed id that u were actually her son...hope that helped
 
I thought that this was gonna be a thread asking us for our credit card numbers and pins.

But since it's not, the post above is correct.
 
won't work. if he doesn't know the pin number then to buy groceries he has to use credit. you can't get cash back with a credit card 99% of the time.
 
Umm my sister got her card stolen and got 700 dollars taken out this way. And its not some weird credit card, its a wells fargo visa. try again. many of my friends have also done this with parents cards.
 
hey man i would try and get cash back for sure just make sure you go somewhere where they dont ask for id becasue i work at lids in the mall and we wont take any card unless its got your name on it and you have a picture id its really lame but whatever, anyways good luck getting some cash
 
try again, i work at a fucking grocery store and i'm telling you 99% of cards used as credit won't let you get cash back. not to mention NO store is going to give you $700 cash back. cute story though.

no it really isnt possible. Ive worked at a grocery store for 4 years now, you CANNOT get cash back unless you know the PIN number for the Debit card.

Find a friend who is going to buy something for around the cash you want buy it with the card and have the friend give you the cash. FTW
 
i dont understand why she left you the card without the pin though.

in theory, debit cards should not work without the pin.

wherever they do, the people are running it as credit, and shouldn't be able to give cash advances anyway.

i'd say call up your mom and be like 'uhh this is debit. which means no pin=no money. and mo pin=mo money. and i need food. and a toothbrush.'

if she was going to keep the pin to herself i dont see why she left the card...?
 
wtf dude how do you not know your moms pin number? you never looked at the numbers when she punched them in at the grocery store?

i know my moms pin, account, and online log ins for her bank account. no ones the wiser...just being observant at the right time
 
i also work at a grocery store. when you swipe the card, the cashier will ask if you want cash back, and if you say yes then you have to hit debit. hit debit and you have to enter your pin.

sorry, but that wont work
 
If the card has a VISA or Mastercard logo, it can be processed as "credit", which means no pin entry, and a signature for the purchase.

I have a bank card, use it for all my purchases, and almost never use it as a debit.
