Cardboard boxes landing?

I have seen videos of people stacking a butt ton of cardboard boxes to use essentially as a foam pit to land on for crazy jumps and such.

I am wondering if any of you have ever done this, what does it feel like, any recommendations/prior experiences etc.

Anything is helpful

Thanks NS

i just bring up a mattress and put it on the landing.

you will need a crane to remove it, though. just a forewarning.

idk dog but i like the mental image of you and your friends sending bombs off a jump into a pile of cardboard boxes. please film if done

I like to use a pool for the most part. Maybe we can work together?

cardboard boxes were used by stuntmen before the airbag became more readily available. it takes a lot of boxes and the set up time is long. jumping into boxes isn't the most comfortable of things but you will be more likely to survive uninjured. here are a couple videos of people landing on cardboard boxes from very high places.

do they still give away all those free flat rate boxes?

Yes. You can actually order them online and your mailman will deliver up to 1,000 of them per day.

Haven't done it myself, but I work with enough stuntmen to have seen it done a number of times. It's a more comfortable landing than, say, concrete, but you can still expect to get a bit bruised or cut if it's a major fall without armor. Like Calb3rt said, airbags are a growing commodity, but for things like motorcycle or vehicle jumps, cardboard box landings are the norm.

Is this going to be the new shit senders, but free? I think so.

I tried this multiple times in high school and the boxes never arrived at their target. USPS is probably smart enough to realize that nobody is actually ordering seven thousand boxes.

I don't know about cardboard boxes, but OP's mom's box makes for one hell of a cushy landing.
