Looking to invest in a nice one. Someone who actually knows what they're talking about care to help me out? +kkkkkk

2001 pathfinder I'd say 10's or 12's, reasonable amount of money, and I want it to bump hard while still maintaining quality

i have a 1998 chevy blazer. i have all stock speakers and 2 12 inch pioneers in a huge ass box. i am yet to amp these subs because i am dirt poor so right now they are running off the car battery. but still bump

so to an extent. anyhting you get is going to bump. its what theyre made for. it all depends on what you like and what you think sounds the best and how much you are willing to pay

diamond or memphis audio
i have 1 10' diamond audio d3 and it slams, my buddy has 2 12 in d3's and you can't breathe
/thread

Focals 165 A1 or 185 A1 for door speaker. 12" JL W7 for a sub. alpnie PDX-5 channel amp. kenwood deck. sony xplode amps are shit. kicker subs will be loud but poor sound quality. whatever you do, alpine amps.

2x 10" w6v2's +JL 1000/1 amp, def agree on the Focals though.

Although I only have 2 12" W3V2's and they are pretty much way more than I need in a cherokee.

ya my friend had w3s and blew one of em so he wants w6s. i just said a single w7 cuz the thing can handle as much power as you want and sounds perfect. and you could do it on a 5 channel amp. that alpine is as good as it gets for sound quality.

my former roommate has a 15" L7, and while its easily the loudest sub ive ever heard, the sound quality was not that great. the sub itself (not the box or the car) rattled and sounded distorted and certain frequencies. just my experience with them. i was less than impressed honestly.

I have a fresh still NIB 15" Kicker L7 and matching 1200.1 amp (actually puts out 1500w) for sale right now... $500 for the sub + amp.
I'm in the NE, and Gator knows me.
Let me know if you're interested, which you should be as the sub alone is around $700 new I think.

for sure, I just feel like dual 10" can keep up with quicker bass lines over a single 12" W7. they both bump, can't breathe on certain bass hits.

fair enough. im just biased i guess cuz i have a single 12, i get all the lows that a ten misses. i was just making the suggestion based on the fact he could do it with one amp vs having to buy a separate sub and speaker amp. then again i really dont know what this kid wants, or what kind of car he has.

why are people bringing up w7's in this thread- your looking at at least 1500 for the sub and an amp that is clean and powerful enough to actually move that cone
- just sold my hifonics 2412d as well as the amp

and my coworker at gramaphone just installed 18 fi btl with reinforced cone in his daily- shit is crazier than anything youve ever heard

http://www.crutchfield.com/ good sight tons of info you may find better deals locally at around town

also i would go with something that plays your mp3 player or ipod if its through the headphone jack or thought the bottom of your ipod so it charges it. i would reccomend that over any speaker combination.

but for my speaker set up i have I have polk speakers all around and they work great for me i think they are db521s that work really well and for subs i have the db1222 which is a really good box for 12" subs and a kenwood 1200 watt amp. i have an older saturn and i have had the system for 4+ years without any problems. you may wanna get a better battery too if your gonna go super big you will notice your battery life become worse and your lights dim and stuff like that too. anyway my buddy has rockford subs and a sony amp and its loud. also another friend had everything jl and it was very loud also hopefully this helps you.

Here is my word of advice... I have rockford fosgate P1's they have great sounds loved them... Yesterday not even bumping they cut out so i am like okay... the fuse blew. I played with them a little bit got it right and right as i did the cone CRAKS! on both.
So my word of advice is don't purchase aftermarket if you are not willing to fix or replace. I just tonight had to buy 150 dollar subs again. RF p2's 12's
Good luck if you need any actual advice PM me i have a decent amount of knowledge of systems.
