is Pyramid any good of a brand for car speakers and subs? cause it's dirt cheap, and they seem like a pretty good company, but anyone ever have any problems with their shit?

yes, but its also like 100 times more expensive. i'm just looking for some decent speakers for cheap for my mom's car.

Don't go cheap, spend the extra cash for quality stuff like Eclipse.

Ok clearly he's not looking to spend the kind of money on mb quarts or eclipse. Pyramid speakers are not very good. Like tjm said you definitely get what you pay for. I've heard some alright things about the higher end pyramid amp but other than that the whole brand is pretty shitty. look for some used equipment on ebay but make sure you know what your doin. bottom line, if your lookin to set up a system you best be willing to spend close to 2000 canadian. if you can install it yourself anyway.

yeah I got a pretty nice system for around a grand

Alpine 7872 head unit

Kicker 15' Impulse sub

(2) Kenwood Excelon speakers

(2) Alpine speakers (all speakers 6.5 inch)

Kicker KX200.2 (200w amp)

my personal opinion of sony equipment is that it is great out of the box but after a 5 months or so it really shows the wear.

If you want a system it is really worth the money to go all out.

fusion has good caps and batterys, I've heard some ok things about their amps too but if your serious, stick the speakers that have been proven. JL,Eclipse, M Quart, Focus etc

kenwood is good starter but the highest quality is like brax, sinfoni, tsunami, PPI, Focal, Crystal Audio, DEI, Digital Designs, Concept, jl audio, kicker, helix, dynaudio and rainbow. For starters look into infinity for speaker on ebay. or maybe jbl or pioneer you can do better the kenwood for the money.

kenwood and pioneer stuff sounds fine to start out with. i have kenwood subs. but for speakers i have infinity. they sound good. i don't know what you need but my infinity 6x9's were like $120. and my 5.25's in the front were like $80.

JL audio makes the best subs and MB Quart makes the best speakers. Best deck i dont know theres alot of good ones i would go with Eclipse if i had the money.

as for HU's, if you had unlimited money, and are going for SQ nakamichi is pretty much the shit but eclipse is solid. surprisingly enough, sony's mobile es is up there to.

I have two JL A's (three years old) in a sealed box and a Coustic 400SE Amp...all that cost me about 600 with install and wire kit. I am def. Decent price for decent product. And now I know sign language.

some peopel said that one company makes the best stuff. But i can tell you there is no best andif there was mb quart wouldnt be the best neither would jl most likely. So for starters kenwood pipneer and infinty are good. for HU look into a pioneer deh-p1400 or 2400.

 
for a kick ass sub amp setup look at a jbl 300.1 with one kicker compvr 10 or 12. or a jbl600.1 and 2 kicker comp vrs or 1 kicker L5. Keep in mind these amp are both underrated and the jbl300.1 really puts out around 400rms perfect for a compvr 12 or 10. and the jbl600.1 puts out 700rms

setup one would be about $270 then add bout 30$ for amp kit

and 30 for shipping. so 330$

setup 2 would be about

450$ with amp kit and shipping

and 3 would be about

400$ with amp kit and shipping.

Id go with number one if your on a tight budget.

But first i would get a hu
