Car stereo question...

Ok, so right now, i have

2 eclipse tweeters

2 6.5" eclipse door speakers

an eclipse CD deck

2 eclipse 6x9's

one 12" alumapro BP 12 subwoofer

and a 5 channel 1560W Memphis Belle amp.

Everything runs fine right now, but since there are no door speakers in the back seats, and the 6x9s are all the way in the back (4runner), i wanted to put in a couple of 6.5" speakers in the back seat.

I don't have enough channels on my amp. 4+sub channel, is there a way to bridge, so that i can power these using the same amp? If not, should i get a seperate subwoofer amp to power my sub, and run the back door speakers off the fifth channel? Or should i get a seperate amp just to run the back door speakers (seems kind of futile).

I'm thinking of a seperate sub amp, but here's my question, what kind would you recommend? where can i get it at a good deal? and HOW MANY WATTS should i get to fully power my Alumapro, i dont want it to be underpowered!!!!!!!!

thanks!

well what is your subwoofer rated at? i googled it quickly and 250 watts rms came up a few times but just in the link descriptions, nothing conclusive tho, if thats the case you can get a fairly inexpensive amp to power your sub and then power everything else from your existing amp... right?

i'm not an expert in this lol

i suggest you find a local place that deals with car stereos (definately not a big box store like futureshop or bestbuy) and talk to them. a local place wont rip you off and will tell you what to get so you get what you want, not what they want you to buy

i have a 400 watt speaker amp in my car and a 750 watt sub amp. it is pretty sick, i like it alot. i reccomend it and it sounds like it would be usefull to you.

To answer your question... you could bridge your door speakers so that they go into one channel, and you could bridge your 6x9's into one channel too.

BUT

I personally would never do that. And, I personally would never use the same amp for my speakers than what I'm using for my subs. So my answer you is keep your 5 channel and use it for your speakers, and then buy a seperate amp that is the proper size for your subs. You will be able to tune your amps better and better sound this way too. It will cost you more buying another amp but definately worth it.

I asked this in the Car Audio Cult, but no one even looked at it...its dead...so I got to ask it here.

first I have a few questions. If i don't have all the $ at first, can I get a head unit, speakers, and a subwoffer now and a amp later?

heres the head unit Im thinkin about getting

It'd work with after market system right?

And for speakers and a sub, i heard MTX was good brand. Everyone agree?

Here's some I'm thinking about.

Anyone reccomend the best "bang for buck"

And it comes w/ 2 right?

Subs

Again, best bang for buck?

i might be wrong but im pretty sure that you need the amp to power the sub. you could do head and speakers at first, but cant put a sub in without an amp
