Car Speakers

I need help picking out some new speakers for my car, only two of mine work right now haha. I need some that have nice quality sound but can pump out a ton of bass. I've got a 250 dollar spending cap, so don't suggest I get some 600 dollar speakers. It would be best if they were from Best Buy so I can just get them installed there.

What size do you have, 6x9's sound pretty good and can hit hard if you listen to music with a lot of bass. But alpine makes quality car speakers

If you know nothing about speakers or how to install (really not that hard if you wanted to try to do it yourself) but go to Best Buy and have them help you and install. Will cost you more but at least you know it will be done right.

Go to www.crutchfield.com. Then put in all the info for your car and it will give you a ton of options for speakers that will fit your car. Do your research, look at reviews and you will find excellent speakers for that much! Also, if your handy with tools at all install them yourself and save te 50 bucks or whatever it costs for installation

. Installing them really isn't hard at all. A friend of mine picked up a new head unit, speakers and amp. the two of us installed everything in a few hours with no problems. You can find the tutorials on youtube most of the time.

This is important, higher end speakers will generally require a separate amp to power them which can be expensive and difficult to add to stock head units vs. aftermarket.

Im sorry but I have no knowledge of speaker equipment or systems so I have no clue what you just said.

are you going to use the stereo that came with your car? or do you have a aftermarket head unit (CD Payer) that you are running your speakers off of. Higher end speakers require more power that the factory stereo wont be able to power, and will end up making your high end speakers sound worse then some cheap ones.

More expensive speakers use larger magnets to create more precise sound. These require more power, usually more than a stock radio supplies. Thus the need for an external power source in an amplifier.

Crutchfield is absolutely the way to go. I've bought two head units, an amp, multiple harnesses, and a pair of 6x9's from them and I've always been satisfied. They have the best customer service in the industry as well. Get your shit from them.

And I would recommend Kicker 6x9's. I had them in my old car and they were almost sub status with no amp.

alright, so if your planning on just running off your HU, then try to find speakers in the 50-60 watt rms range, definitly check out crutchfield, type in what car you have and a list of compatable speakers will come up.

Really, if your looking for bass, spend a couple extra bucks and get a sub and an amp. If you cant afford it, i recommend that you get a pair of coaxial speakers. Remember you get what you pay for. Listen to the speakers they have in stock and compare, installation is really easy so you dont have to pay for that. But if you want to get loud, get an amp for your speakers as well. It shouldnt be too expensive to get an amp installed to the speakers, but trust me. Its well worth it.

But as other people were saying, a nice speaker requires an amp. Check the output on your head unit and how many sets of RCA's you have. Generally, an after market head unit has an extra set of RCA's that will allow you to run an amp. The higher the output in your head unit the better. It just pushes more power to each speaker
