i'm thinking about getting a car next winter because i'm planning on taking winter quarter off and ski bumming it. i was curious about what everybody pays monthly on car insurance so i can start setting goals. be sure to mention things that might have made it go up like rear ending a cop car or something.

I am 17, and I was at $1200 a year, but I just had an accident and it will be going up a shitload.

when i first got my car, i was 18, and paying 3600 a year. now i'm 21, have been involved in 2 collisions, have 9 demerit points, and am paying 2800 a year. cars are fucking money pits - DON'T GET ONE!

 
damn.. i wish i was living in the states. or at least getting your rates..

im 17 soon to be 18 just bought my own car, im paying 2090 per year.. as SOON as i get my first speeding ticket, or get into an accident, they cancel my insurance and IF they re instate it. i can probably look at my insurance tripling. THATS CRAZY. and it sucks. oh and 2000 is GOOD for insurance here in ontario.. if your a guy youd be paying alot more too..

Thats why you should buy the car and try to scam your parents into paying the insurance. Unfortunatly it didnt work for me.
