Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new car, a golf tdi 1999.

Here's the spec : turbo gt1749vb under warranty for another year,,injector .205, fuel pump 11mm and reprogrammed, clutch xtd stage 2.

The starter, alternator is brand new.

The interior is in leather and it will come whit a sub, ampli.

The transmission is new, he's changing it this week.

He did the paint job last year, in september.

240 000 km so like 150 000 miles.

I'm buying from my cousin, he's buying a Jeep because the golf is to small.

Price would be 4000$ whit winter tire, the rack and everything

Should I buy it?

When you buy a car that has already been modified that much it feels like you're driving someone else's car rather than your own. It looks like a solid build by your cousin though

seems pretty solid. That car from about that time has probably the best mileage you can get in North America without buying a hybrid. Diesel rocks. And 230,000 isn't that much for what a diesel engine can do. also new transmission. not too shabby a deal.

Hows it doing for under body rust? I'm assuming its all good if he is going to drop a transmission in it. Rubbers bushings on the suspension good?

Another thing to consider is can you afford the 4K(i would negotiate the price down. Do it with every car always)? Do you have that in cash or going to take out a loan? Will the load be too much of a burden as far as how much income you have? Don't forget to calculate in for insurance.
