Car gas mileage question

I am looking to buy a honda crv and im just wondering if there is any difference in gas mileage between all wheel drive models nad 4 wheel drive models

why dont you ask the fucking person at the dealership instead of a bunch of people who dont know what there talking about

haha the difference between all wheel drive models, and 4 wheel drive models... ( 4 ) ( 4 ).... WAIITTT. NOTHING! OMFG. Btw SUV's are out and shitty on gas, but good choice on brand. Stick Japanese american cars are PoS's.

Wow, just wow.

AWD is either usuall a 95 to 5 percent split between the wheels, until on starts to slip. many other times its 55 to 45 percent shift.

A 4x4 car/SUV is in 2wd UNTIL you push a button or pull a lever ect to ENGage the transfer case to lock it up, to spin the front driveshaft.

^^^ what he said, so the 4x4 is better on gas. The crv also has some sort of smart 4x4 system where it automaticially turns on the 4x if it detects that the wheels are slipping, the rest of the time it is front wheel drive only.

Actually, AWD is usually better on gas mileage because the 4WD transfer case weighs so much. It is irrelevant, because I am sure the CRV has options of 2WD and AWD, not AWD and 4WD. I guess it's a fine car with the AWD if you are going to beat the shit out of it. I would rather have an Impreza or something for the same money, though.

actually a 4x4 TC and a AWD TC weigh about the same. There maybe will be about a 25lb difference. Keep in mind here i am talking about NP(new products) and NV(New venture) TCs. They come in most diamler chrystler vechiles. they are also what are put into offraod buggies, boggers, and trail rigs.

alright thanks guys. and it's not my choice of car cause my parents are paying for it. and it is a pretty nice car for a 16 year old. also im not getting it new so different years have the option of awd or 4wd
