CHARLEMONT - As many as five young people may have been taken to local hospitals Friday night after all suffered injuries when the car they appeared to be traveling in left Route 2 and hit a tree. At least one person was taken to a hospital by Life Flight helicopter.

The crash, which happened at about 9:45 p.m., involved a green four-door sedan, which seemed to be traveling east on Route 2 about a half-mile west of Berkshire East Ski Area's entrance when it left the road. The roof had been taken off, although it was unclear if that was a result of the crash or the Jaws of Life which was called for to extricate a person trapped in the wreck. The grille and front bumper were torn from the car and it appeared badly damaged. Police estimated that the car was traveling at a speed of 110 mph. They passed in a no passing zone as well.

While two ambulances took victims away, three other victims were placed on stretchers near the crash while other ambulances waited.

Charlemont and Shelburne Falls fire departments, a number of local ambulances and state and Charlemont police departments were at the scene. Other emergency vehicles were still arriving at 10:45.

Unlike you I have been in a car that hit a median at 115. You would be missing alot more than a fucking bumper. My buddies civic was missing up the the firewall. There is no need to add shit to make yourself cool. The sad part about it is you have to lie about it. What about those who accuatlly lose there lives from high speed crashes. i live about 30-40 minutes from route 2 and i know that theres no way you could even get up to 110, becuase its such a windy road. if in fact you did hit 110 you were in either an enzo or saleen s7, becuase the turns are pretty fucking sharp. AND if you were going 110, what were you gonna do at the hair pin turn, fly into north adams in your 4 door sedan?

fuck you. There is no way you all walked away from that. Here is why I think your a piece of shit and can't lie for shit.

When you start passing people your speed will increase due to increasing g forces. This means that if you pass a car with a smooth line like you should if you can drive your speed will be increased greatly. So if you passed the car than procedded to 110 than hit a tree your would be dead. Here is why, 110 on a curved line is longer than 110 on a straight line, so you are traveling farther which means your speed would be increased and your g forces would be too. Put all this together and you have an impact of around 120 mph. So in conclusion an object traveling 120 mph hitting a solid and stable non moving object means the impact rate is doubled. So you mean to tell me you walked about from a 240mph impact speed? Try bullshitting someone else

You are traveling farther on a curved line so your speed is increased? wtf I have a book on the physics of race car driving and I've never heard such babble in my life. 'Since you are hitting a stationary non-movable object your impact is doubled' Please tell me which part of your body you pulled that out of.

Hitting a tree going 120 is hitting a tree going 120.

Hitting an oncoming car going 120 while you are going 120 now thats a 240 mile per hour impact.

Apparently you don't know what your talking about. He said he passed a car and never stoped. So this means since he is traveling on a curved line he is traveling farther which causes him to gain more speed. I have a forumla I found on the net when my buddy was killed for impact speeds from the state police. If you hit a stationary object, your IMPACT speed is doubled, not the speed you are traveling at.

If you hit a stationary object at x amount of speed you multiple the traveling speed by .75 to obtain the impact speed. I thought it was doubled, I stand corrected.

Try this. Accelerate on a straight line over a mile . Nothing changes. Now accelerate and do long smooth lane changes. Your speed will increase due to a longer path and increased g forces.
