im trying 2 set up my bro for a system in his new car i was thinking of 2 12's what are some nice ones that are inexpensive and also what amps and shit would i need 2 support it
 
do some reasearch, but you are gonna spend some $$ if you want something decent. if you want cheap go with sony explode package. they are OK until you crank the volume up
 
the BEST subs ever made i think are the Solo x subs

kicker makes some nice ass one, and so does JL

I don't know anything about that but based on the price im gonna say its a piece of shit. If your looking for a decent sub for not too high of a price I would go with Kicker CompVR's. I have em and their pretty good for the price. I cant remember exactly but I think about 70 bucks each for a 12 inch. Audiobahn is way overpriced for what you get. MTX is a decent brand too I believe. As for an amp I purchased a hiphonics brutus amp. Its a lil more on the expensive side. It was about 250 i think for the 1000 watt one. I used it to power my 2 12 inch comp vrs and it sounded great.
 
thanks what type of amp would i need if i got the kicker how many channels any suggestions on ones that would work well with that
 
2 Alpine Type-R 12's, a Rockford Fosgate T15004 amp, a Lightning audio Capacitor, be shure to use good wiring or it will not put to its highest quality, put all of this together in a nice box and you'll have a bumpin system, and if you have the money, get your car dynamated
 
i have 2 MTX thunder 8000 12"s with a 1200 watt MTX amp and a Rockford Fosgate capacitor, sounds really good, nice and clean and they hit fucking hard...
 
and dude if your going cheap, you only need one really nice 10. i have 500 rms 1000 watts max going to a 10 inch alpine type r and its fucking wild. just make sure you fully power it.
 
ahahahhaahhahahahahhahahhahaahhah wow you dont know too much, if all you care about is SPL or DBL then yeah they are loud as fuck, but they sound like shit for everyday listening, that is the main reasoin that they were discontinued.
 
aright so i have 2 12 JL audio w3's. with a 3000wtts kicker amp. they bump realy loud, i had a 15 w7. but it wouldnt fit in my integra so i had to sell it. it blew the back window off my moms van hehe. so yeah, i need to sell these JL's. ill let the subs and box go for like 300$ w/out shipping. or maybe a lil bit cheaper. message me and we can work something out if you realy want them. these are high cuality subs. i just need money realy realy bad.
 
You can't possibly be talking about the whole system for under 200. the amp will likely run you more than that. Not to metion you need a box, wires, two subs and installation.
 
no im going for 1 15" for like 110 then an amp for like 50 and then im gunna build my own box and i have lot of the wires

You are going to buy an amp for 50 bucks? What the fuck? Just remember that you get what you pay for, and besides that you can hardly even get a really really shitty amp for 50 bones.
 
dude what are you getting for 110?? like a bow that fuck up on the second hit sub??? my buddies 15's cost him350 a piece, he has 4 of them!! and an amp for $50 even if it is used your may get a 1x400.
 
umm if your about to get a 15 for 110$, its probly realy shitty. you might as well put that money into buying a realy good 10inch sub. and you might not even afford that, but dude i doubt a 50$ amp will power whatever sub you buy. cheap amps are shit. same with subs.

my advice is... save up for like 3 more months and atleast try to buy yourself something decent. like alpines/jls/kicker. theres some nice polks at circut city for 380, 2 12's and box
 
of course theyre loud as fuck, thats why they are the best. i love loud systems. i think kicker even broke the worlds loudest sub record or somthin at SEMA.

anyway, yes they are loud, and no, they arent good for everyday listening, but they are loud!

good, quality, low frequency, no popping, subs would be JL still. the new ones are crazy good.

or if you want to spend some money, you can get some BOSE speakers.
 
there are a lot of unheard of companies that make subs that are better than the solo X in ALL catorgories. My firned competes in comps across the US, he has used many different types of subs.
 
im sure there's alot of small companies who make even better subs. but i havent heard of them, i like to stick to name brand companies sort of.
 
go to reaudio.com, in my opinion they make some amazing products. They build their stuff here in Las Vegas so I was able to talk with the guy who built my sub/amp. Im running 1 15" XXX and putting 1800 rms watts into it from one of their prototype amps (they only made a couple of the amps which sux since i want another). They have some less expensive subs, and you will have something nicer than a lot of the crap out their. Their stuff will get VERY loud (im setting off car alarms everywhere) but the sound quality is still phenominal.
 
yeep. i got the amp for free, from my cousins friend, hes in college and isnt using his car, so hes lettin me borrow his amp till i can buy my own.

and to the kid who said theres no such thing as the 15 w7. sorry i messed up, meant 13. i dunno why i was thinkin 15.
 
The maximum wattage those speakers can handle is 1200 watts. Enjoy purchasing a new set of subs in the near future.
 
Buy an Amp, not a subwoofer first. Or a new dash-sterio. Don't get subs off the bat, thats just gay. Order of buying:

1) New Sterio Deck

2) New speakers (unless your stock are in good cranking condition)

3) 4-channel amp

4) 2 Channel amp + Woofer+ battery for subs.
 
My shit kills it...ive got 2 jbl 12 inch subs, a 1400 watt pioneer amp, and a pioneer deck...and the best part, is i got that shit for freeeeee
 
fuck you. lol. so lucky. I got a Sont Explod Deck and 4 Polk speakers for x-mass all installed. I'm saving up for a 4-way amp as we speak though. Can't wait, if I can't go fast, I'll crank the sterio. lol.
 
if you run an amp with too little power, you can kill your subs, the voice coil inside will turn into an oven element and fry. make sure your amp is about 50 watts more (rms) than your subs are capable of
