This is my car accident from mid July of last summer.
So it was 11:45 pm and i was doing about 100 on a back road straightaway that runs parallel with the Erie canal with my friend. i started going into the most mellow curve ever and my car started to slide. I slid across the street into a ditch, the car flipped over and i would have gone into the canal but thankfully a bunch of trees stopped me.
this was the scariest shit ever. i could feel the back end starting to drift, i tried to correct it but it was too late. i started sliding and all i could see were trees and shit flying by in my headlights and then dirt and shit flying up followed by the worst sound ever. we slammed to a halt and the first thing i saw was that fucking dashboard literally
exploded open.
I made sure my friend was ok because that was my greatest concern at the time, and we were both fine on the surface, nothing broken or anything. At this point i had no idea that we were upside down until i unbuckled my seatbelt and fell onto the roof. i tryed to open my door but it was jammed, and the way we finally came to a rest my friends door was against the ground. So we had to crawl into the back seat and climb up out the left rear door.
We called the cops and when the ambulance arrived they had to strap me to a fucking board because i was 17 and you have to be 18 to say you are alright and you dont need to get checked out, which my friend was. I went to the hospital and everything was fine, but my car was completely fucked. Overall i am so glad that my friend and I could have walked away from this, the cops told me later that they were expecting to find 2 dead bodies in the car when they saw it in the trees.
