capturing video

ya i got a laptop and was wondering how to get video from my camcorder to my laptop? i jus downloaded adobe premier pro if that helps.

i got a sony handycam digital 8 with dv out and rca outs. i dont have rca in on my comp but i got usb 2.0

i dont have a firewire in either. i thought about gettin a dazzle but i heard those really sux. anyone got any ideas?

go buy a usb 2.0 DV cable, theyre like 10-15 bucks at any good computer store

what makes you say that...i started off with Premiere...i didnt cry...well i did when i say the end product cause it was so damn beautiful...lol..USB 2.0 DV cord will do you just fine!

i jus got back from the computer store and the guy said that a dv to usb cable doesnt exist and said that i have to get a firewire card ad cable to capture video. anyone got any ideas?

get a firewire card. and then fire wire. its nice and fast. I use fire wire with my sony digital 8 and the sony pd150 mini dv.worth the investment

ya i jus went and got one. works good. got any idea how to decrease the file size with adobe preimeier pro when ur recording video?

ya cant, you have to record it in at about 3.1 MBs but after you capture it you can compress the file which will make it smaller but you will lose a little bit of quality

yeah but if u have no idea what ur doing like u just got a camwera and a computer , its easy now but i just think its better to start easy
