Capturing from HV30 without firewire

laptop crashed, picked up a desktop to replace it, desktop doesnt have an firewire in port. does anyone know if theres any way to capture from a cannon HV30 without firewire? using adobe premiere

The only other way is to use HMDI. Firewire ports are pretty cheap though.

FIREWIRE 800 9pin to 4pin CABLE this is what I bought for my mac, I got the new macbook pro and it did not come with a firewire port, not sure if you'll have this port in your pc, but look em up on ebay and see...hope this helps

i would just go buy a PCI firewire port for your computer. it'll only cost you like 20 bucks. i read on HV20.com or whatever it is that those usb cords have potention to mess up your cam

on my macbook there is no firewire so i bought an external (needed one anyways) with firewire and it works really well.
