Canyons park?

Its a well known fact that park city can not build jumps and isn't moving towards bigger gaps or steeper landings very quickly, if at all, so I have a question. Has anyone hit the park at the can lately. how big are the jumps? Steep Landings? maintenance? i need some info, i dont know how long our bodys will hold up on this shit.

I ski PC and canyons parks regularly. Here is canyons set up. Top of "advanced" park. Right line - up-dip-down box (weird but fun), 4 ft gap to flat box, dragon tail box, flat up flat box. Left line - rainbow rail, flat rail, down rail, d-f-d rail (its short).

Both lines go into a quarterpipe like PC had up, but this one is covered in a carpet astroturf material so you can hold and edge on it so that airing out is a possibility. Then comes two step downs both around 20 ft. After this is an up-flat(that is a foot high so you have to ollie off the up)-down box. Then the bottom park of the park.

The bottom park of the park is an s-box to a flat down box. Then the fun jump line. Its like a shitty 20 ft step down, then a lippy table that is about 40, great air off of it but I have over shot it a few times, knuckling it isnt an issue. The last jump is less poppy than jump to and around 35 but also a lot of fun. Thats the advanced park.

They also have a intermediate park which is fun to cruise through, haven't been in it for sometime now so Im not too sure of the set up.

sorry. The landings are all pretty decent. Not too steep and I have over shot every jump in the park at least once, but I have an extreme problem with judging speed. THe landings on the 2 bigger tables in the bottom park are about the same as the last jump in kings. Overshootable but if your smart about it, it isnt a problem. The top two tables have pretty good landings.

do it! canyons is killin it right now. park is practically empty all of the time. almost no calling drops or stopping required

i went there last year around this time and it was really fun. like people have said, not crowded and pretty good overall. not sure how it is this year but i imagine it's pretty solid.

that set up sounds sick this year... i went there a few years ago and if was a very decent park and there were no lines...at all..but i cant remember if i was there on a week day or not..

sounds no different then PC.

Park City needs to work on the parks. why are all the down rails not set up like they use to be.

Quit setting shit up for the gappers

fire the shitty ass park crew and hire people that are willing to do the work

im pretty sure most people here would go a long way before calling pc's park crew shitty, especially because the guy that runs them is on here, you could say it in a more construtive way bro. make life a little better on everyone.

if you have such a strong opinion on the matter why dont you grow a pair and instead of bitching on ns email pc and tell them yourself

yea i guess but there are alot of people that are trying to progress there skiing and there is only so much you can do on a 35 foot jump.

Burn in Hell penis breath. So what if it's different? IMO the down rail set up in kings is the most intimidating down rail to spin onto simply because I'm not used to it. AND I LIKE IT!

in kings the jumps are big enough to do smooth 9's and you could definitely get 10's around. im sure you can progress more on the jumps that we have rather than like a 50 ft. poppy jump. try learning to spin all four ways. once you can do all 4 7's on our jumps then you can start complaining about jump size.

PC should quit claiming top 10 in NA for parks the landings are way to flat and short it's just asking for injury. Strtatton and okemo had way better shit set up when I went there last year. I'm sure you can 9 them but of all the people I've discussed this with the landings just hurt and overshooting is way to easy, there's just no forgiveness you either land perfect or your knees are killing you for the rest of the day. I'm sorry there's only 5 people working for the park crew.....hire more people that actually know how to build safe jumps. There was also a comparison about Keystone and PC in one of the earlier threads, and I waited till I actually skied PC before passing judgement-PC is nowhere near the standard Keystone and Breck are at. Those resorts deserve to be considered the top 10 parks in North America.

they are considered top 10 parks. and its not like PC just says they are top 10 they get chosen by TRANSWORLDsnowboarding.

I dont know why everyone is complaining about PC. We are LUCKY to have a park like that. I hear everyone saying "the jumps are too small." WHAT THE FUCK. What trick do you have that you can't do over a nice poppy 40 fter? Oh shit, I forgot that all of you can switch 1440 and double flip so you NEED a 70 fter. I can get every single one of my tricks done and dialed on jumps that size so I dont get what you complaining about. And for ONE week the landings were a little sketch on the four pack, for the entire season leading up to that they were perfect and no one once complimented the park crew on that. Please, if you dont like it here go back east where we ski rocks, ice, and shit ass set ups for an entire year, and yet we are still stoked on skiing.

I posted a really short edit that i shot today at canyons. Kind of gives you a feel for the park, but there is a ton of stuff not pictured in the edit as well.

I wouldn't want the jumps in kings to be any bigger...it's hard enough to clear them the way they are, except for the last one.  I would support steeper landings though.
