Canyons not opening til the 18th?

yea i know that they said the 10th, but a bunch of people i've takled to in pc said they just changed it to the 18th....
 
They better upgrade it to 2 hot chocolates a day since they're only opening for half the season. I would hope this is just a rumor though I can't imagine a resort being so fucked.
 
somehow have never really had a sick day at the cayons and this shit is just assuring me that i never will go to that place

On their FB they are assuring it will be the 10th. Who fucking knows though, those guys are a being a bunch of twats. Want to hear something uber-fucked up though? The CEO of Talisker is having a private party shuttled up to Tombstone next weekend so they can enjoy a day of riding a private mountian. W.T.F?
 
Well considering PC is the only mountain I would consider an alternative to the Canyons I would say they haven't missed any pow days cause PC hasn't got shit either. I got both, so everyone can suck it.
 
When getting my pass at pc today i asked the women if a lot of people from the canyons were coming to buy season passes there instead and she said yea. She said that they might not open until the weekend of the 18th, and a lady behind her laughed and said "probably xmas weekend"
 
canyons has posted multiple times on their facebook that they're definitely opening the 10th. if they don't im gonna be pretty upset.
 
everyone that thought canyons was going to be better than PC this year is dumb...why would you pay more for a season pass when you get to ski a month less. bummer TitsLOL, your an idiot!!!!
 
what I have heard from some people who work at canyons.

They are planning on the 10th, but the 9th is when they are having their lifts inspected (how have they not taken care of this already) and if anything doesnt check out it'll push everything back again till they can fix it / get inspection again.

It is also well known that canyons lifts are fucking shit and break down decently often compared to other places... so this could turn ugly again.
 
welp looks like ill be hitting sundance..... for way to long.... but think of this the park crew could have how many un interupted building weeks. i was talking to cooper hoffmiester and he said they should be able to have some pretty good crap up for there opening. and they better do something with all this down time of theres or ill be so pissed
 
i dont understand why it has to be a competition between pc and canyons. obviously people who have more fun at pc are gonna get a pass there and the people who have more fun at canyons are gonna get one there. people making fun of you cause you didnt go to pc is just retarded, and makes me want to go there even less

yeah its a bummer the canyons isnt open yet but theres nothing we can do about it, and getting mad just makes it worse. theres plenty of snow to be skied on in the mountains and the city, go enjoy it. stop talking shit
 
Hah ya pretty much everyone who has chimed in from the PCMR clan has just been a huge douche to people who chose the canyons... sick!

I still think everyone shoulda just got both, goddamn poor people.
 
ok so i was up at alta this week and met a guy who works at the canyons he said the orange bubble has been spinning all week and the gondola should be spining on tuesday. he said even if the gondola doesnt pass inspections they will have the orange bubble running to get every one up the mountain. so it is opening!
 
got a free pair of goggles and shredded til my thighs couldnt take it, ill call it a great first day.
 
Haha, my roommates rolled up at like 6 to do that, one ended up forgetting his boots and they had to come back down. Barely missed out on the goggs.
 
got there 11:00pm last night. slept in a tent. was totally 1st in line. got my goggles took em to the oakley outlet and traded em in for 110 dollar credit which got me a 400 dollar set of very discounted coat and pants for and extra 75 out of my pocket! so worth the cold misery
